Hermione had spent most of yesterday cleaning up the messes she'd made over the weekend. She'd always thought she'd been a beat child, and she had been. The problem was, when you went unsupervised and had to do some things yourself and were only so tall and coordinated, messes got made. And she didn't even want to talk about the dirt smudges she'd found in Hogwarts, A History. Some books just shouldn't be brought onto a playground, even if you don't intend to play.

She was very glad to have grownup work to do today. Lots and lots of grownup work.
