Art Gallery, Monday Evening

The so called 'art' that filled the gallery made very little sense to the one dubbed Myria LeJean. In the same way it wouldn't make much sense to a twig. Although a twig would be slightly less pointedly disinterested.

On account of having no higher cognitive functions.

She tilted her head, finding that the body preferred this gesture when looking at the paintings they had placed on the walls. Though it didn't help figure out a half a figgin* of the appeal.

*A whole figgin being far too much.

Zayne didn't get to this point in life by thinking too hard about whether or not something was wise. Especially not when someplace seemed to have some action for the first time in a while.

Between needing a break from working on his building's bunker and having a recently developed appreciation for art (or at least how much it might be worth on the black market, thank you, Gryph), Zayne decided to stop in and see what was happening. And possibly say hi to anyone it was happening to.

"Hi," Zayne said when he spotted the proprietress. "Would you be the new owner?"

"Zayne Carrick. Member of the completely unofficial and unorganized Fandom welcoming committee," Zayne said. "Looks like you got the place up and running pretty quickly."

Which was something Zayne knew something about, what with his restaurant that was just a spaceship that landed on the lot.

"I suppose," Zayne said, laughing a little until he realized she wasn't being mock-humble. "Still, you did a good job. The gallery looks great. The art is definitely a change of pace from what was here before."

More dwarves for one thing.

So friendly! And not at all kind of off-putting. "Obviously, yeah," Zayne said. "Well, if you need any help getting settled into town or finding your way around, I'm sure you won't have a problem finding someone willing to lend a hand. The people around here are really pretty nice."

"There's nobody named Igor here that I'm familiar with," Zayne said, trying to figure that one out. "Wait, did you say 'we'? Do you have a business partner?"

"I have one of those. But he's only silent because he's far, far away from here," Zayne said. "Maybe even in a different time, I don't know how it all works. It's complicated."

Not even a please. Tsk. "Well, he's on another planet in another galaxy," Zayne said. "I hope that doesn't sound too crazy. You never know how a new person in town is going to react to hearing something like that."

"It's common enough," Zayne said. "A lot of people have odd little quirks like that. I always find it interesting to see them adjust to a relatively normal life. I know it was kind of a strange time for me while I adjusted to it."

"I'm sure that helps," Zayne said. "Well, I'm sure you're busy, so I don't want to keep you. I just wanted to make sure you were properly welcome."

Hey, look at that. She was becoming a little more friendly! See, being nice did help.

"A town this size? It's bound to happen soon enough," Zayne said. "I'll see you then."

And then he walked off to finish checking out the space, feeling kind of good that he helped make someone feel welcome. And maybe a little better prepared for some town weirdness.
