Portalocity Office, Fandom Branch, 13 Griffin Street Tuesday

So. This was it. The last leg of the portal journey had been an...adventure...and Dugal had assured Trick that their journey had been expedited because they were employees. Trick could almost believe that part of their trip had been designed to remove any doubts about traveling several years into the future--after all, a trip to the Cambrian age, a steampunk London, and then lunch at some restaurant at the end of the universe tended to make anyone a believer. But now, Dugal had left him on this island with an address scrawled on notepaper and a few last minute instructions, most of which Trick hadn't really heard.

Now Trick was inside, trying not to be concerned with the fact that it was next to a weapon store, considering some of the vitriol he'd noticed on the Twitter feed yesterday. At least the office came furnished? Which was good, as he hadn't gotten a place to stay yet. The door opened into a waiting area, with places to sit and a line that led to a counter. There was even a little brass plate with his name on it mounted to the counter. How nice.

There went the idea of using a pseudonym.

Another door led to a medium-sized lounge where people waiting for their portals could relax for a bit, complete with couches, magazines, and even a small bookcase. That was...promising. It still lacked the copious amounts of alcohol Trick thought might be necessary to get through the next few days (for him and the guests, yes), but overall, it was a nice little setup.

But where were the boxes of complimentary holiday-themed snow globes he was supposed to be passing out? Dugal had been insistent on those being a major component of the "Portalocity Cares" program.
