Caritas, Thursday evening (12/1)

Right. So. Things were apparently bad, according to Topher. And according to Peter, it was time to Man Up. Woman Up. Whatever. And then there was that announcement from the Principal. Kenzi knew her skills did not run to fighting or magic or science.

They did, however, run to booze.

Happy Winter Drinking Day!
Dollar Shots for Peppermint or Coffee flavored drinks!
Celebrate That There's Booze!

There. Now she'd done something.

Hercules walked in, in full heroic garb (though his new outfit with pants, not the battle skirt), with all of his various magical items strapped to his back or belt as appropriate.

He sat down at the bar, but he didn't look too relaxed. But he wasn't lost in sorrow as he'd gotten over the weekend. No, he was just looking for a momentary respite from the vigilant watch he'd taken over the island. He dared not lose another home to whatever this world-eating foe was.

"I will take... cranberry juice," he decided. "As much as it pains me not to order a cold brew."

"It is very tempting," Hercules said. "But I have vowed to myself to not touch drink until this time of tribulation is over. And... no one should be drunk and in possession of a shield that can turn people to stone."

"Petrify, I think is the word you're looking for," Hercules said with a little smile. "The Shield of Perseus is definitely not a toy. It's... well, it's a magical shield. They're kind of rare."

"It wears off. After a day or two," Hercules said. "Unless there is magic interference, and then it can wear off even faster. That's how I got smuggled into the lair of evil Kyknos on my most recent epic adventure in Brooklyn."

"Kyknos, a stubborn and monstrous demigod," Hercules explained. "He was trying to... resurrect his father. It would have been very bad if it had worked. As it stood, Brooklyn had already been turned into something of a nightmare. But I, mighty Karla, and noble Warren put an end to it."

Hercules chuckled. "Though in this case there were dragons and centipedes the size of subway trains," he said. "But Brooklyn has a special place in my heart. It is a... rough and tumble land."

"They were mostly bewitched," Hercules said. "Hecate, goddess of magic was involved. I think there was some sort of... larger scale thing going on in the world at large. Something about the Midgard Serpent."

Hercules' expression saddened a bit. "There is no reason for me to believe that she or any other gods of Olympus still live, back in my world," he said, being honest. "Not to... be a downer or anything."

"I drowned my sorrow earlier this week," Hercules said. "I have emerged from that sorry state, ready to be vigilant for the protection of this new home. And when I finally see the face of this dastardly foe, I shall strike it with every ounce of my might. And then I'll keep on striking it until I can no longer lift my hand in anger."
