Trooper Station [all day]

Anakin was behind his other desk today, doing research about auditors.

So far he'd concluded that he really didn't want to piss off the IRS but he was pretty sure they couldn't make him disappear outright if he forgot to file his taxes.

Was Anakin ruthlessly compartmentalizing? You bet your ass he was.

Audrey arrived at the station with coffee in one hand and a manila envelope (http://pieandcoffee.livejournal.com/16680.html) in the other. "Were we expecting anything?" she asked.

"What about the IRS?" Anakin asked, pulling out a small tape and staring at it in confusion.

He was from a place with three dimensional holographic technology. Tapes were a little old school for him.

"Didn't check. Tried a few numbers I knew in the area-" Takeout places. Audrey didn't have friends. "-and most of them wouldn't go through. I think that whole area might be gone. You want me to make that tape work?"

"Thanks. I'm repressing," she said, holding up her coffee as proof. Everyone should be lucky she wasn't also talking really fast.

Once she'd found something on which to play the tape, she set it on Anakin's desk and hit play.

"Do you know this guy?" she asked quietly at the beginning.

"I have to ask. I'm a little new to this different realities thing," she said. Being new sucked. "Do I take it that he's not from the same place as me and that we're dealing with a whole other place in another universe that's probably gone?"
