Dancing in the Park under the stars. Item #12.

Wear Sexy Dress in public. Item #3 (#2 was Buy Sexy Dress - clearly accomplished.)

Millie had warmed the air around herself enough magically that she could be comfortable without a coat, (though she wasn't sure she'd ever be truly comfortable without all her protective layers of skirts) and now she was waiting, (carefully posed the way the shop girl had told her, even if it did make her feel foolish) and just hoping that she didn't end up standing here alone all night.


[ooc: Millie's waiting for Max, but I can assure you, she'd be willing to dance (or just talk - *sigh*) with anyone who might want to stop by. Thread with Max happens last chronologically.]

Max didn't break stride when he spotted Millie, but it was a close thing. He whistled, impressed, as he got closer.

"You," he declared sincerely, "look amazing this evening." He paused and offered Millie an extravagant little bow.

Millie blushed and laughed. "Items 2 and 3 on my list."

"The more I hear about this list, the more I like it," Max decided. He gave Millie another very obvious look, eyes slowly sliding up and down in appreciation of both Millie and the dress itself.

She blushed and tugged the shawl type thing a little closer around her. That look made funny things happen to her stomach. "I'm glad you like the dress. I was uncertain that I could wear it without looking as foolish as I feel."

"You certainly don't look foolish," Max assured her. Then grinned. "Far from it."

"Then I'm happy," she said with a smile and crossed the small distance over to him. "Shall we dance? Or is there supposed to be small talk before we do that? My books are most unhelpful about this sort of thing."

Max laughed. "Well, I believe your list is long enough that we might as well skip the small-talk." He held out a hand to her.

"Shall we?"

"Wait!" Millie looked up quickly, then smiled when she saw the stars shining down brightly. "All right." She took his hand. "The stars are ready too."

Another laugh. "We wouldn't want it not to count," he agreed, taking her hand and pulling Millie in close.

"I know!" she said earnestly. "Not that dancing with you would not be equally good at other times, I'm sure, but I have so dreamed of dancing under the stars."

"Then let's see if we can't make a few dreams come true, shall we?" Max wasn't any sort of expert dancer, of course, but he could manage something simple.

Expert was definitely not necessary. An ability to laugh with Millie while she twirled and tipped her head way back to watch the stars would help, though.

And pick up the speed just a bit, spinning Millie faster and faster to see if he could prompt more laughter out of her.

Millie laughed until she was breathless, then fell into his arms, still giggling.

Max laughed with her, pulling her into a quick kiss. Which he slowly turned into a longer (though still slow and gentle) kiss.

He hadn't forgotten she had that on the list, after all.

Millie wasn't thinking about her list at the moment. She twined her arms around his neck and kissed him back.

Max shifted slightly, lifting Millie off the ground, holding her close, and letting the kiss linger.

She made herself lighter, not wanting the kiss to end. She was here, with Max, under the stars, and being well-kissed. What more could she want at the moment?

Normally Max was careful with Millie, not wanting to push her boundaries too much. But she had a list, and he wasn't sure that it would really count unless she was kissed properly.

Max shifted, cradling the back of her head in his hand and letting his lips slowly part to really kiss her.

This was amazing. Millie made a soft yearning sound and clung to him, opening her mouth under his to let give him better access.

Eventually, of course, even Max had to come up for air. Not far, fortunately. He only had to pull his face back an inch or so, his breath coming a bit heavily as he smiled down at Millie.

"Thank you," she whispered.

"My pleasure," Max breathed.

She rested her head on his shoulder, tipped enough so that she could stare up at the stars.

And tried to decide if she was brave enough.

"Max...?"

"Yes, Millie?" he asked, just enjoying the proximity for the moment.

"There was this one other thing on my list," she whispered. "I was wondering - you don't have to, of course. It's horribly forward to just ask like this, but -"

"Mmmhmm?" Max asked a bit distractedly. He didn't know what else might be on Millie's list, but so far he'd rather enjoyed helping her complete it.

Her voice was still very low, not wanting to be overheard and hoping that if he said no, at least he wouldn't make fun of her foolishness.

"Would you have sex with me?"

Max stiffened in surprise. That... well, he hadn't actually expected that particular question.

But he had an answer.

"I ill," he answered softly. Because it was true, and he was sure it would be enjoyable. "But only if you're sure." He very much didn't want her to have any regrets.

"I'm sure," she said. "I can't think of anyone I'd rather be with. I... I want to experience this and I, well, I care for you, and I know that you will be careful with me and make sure it is - that I will fully enjoy it."

He leaned forward to give Millie another kiss. This one to her forehead. "I will do my best," he promised. And, fortunately, sex was something that Max was very, very good at, so his best was pretty impressive.

She smiled at him shyly. "Then will you bring me home again (http://livingasheth.livejournal.com/2729.html) tonight?"

"It would be my pleasure." And to punctuate his words, Max leaned down to kiss her again. Deeply, hotly.

There were some things, after all, that they could get started on before getting back to her place.

Too many of those things and he'd have to be carrying her back to her place.

Didn't stop her from throwing herself wholeheartedly into that kiss though.

When they came up for air she'd drag him off to her house.
