The Boards, Sunday

While Troy and Jono were at the Boards on this particular Sunday, and they had, in fact, put out the now-traditional pitchers of water -- this time with a plate of ~~moddable~~ cookies.

The mood was a little... subdued, but the boys were there. More or less.

"So feel free to help yourselves to cookies, guys," Troy said, "but today's just an opportunity for you to... Go over stuff, work things out together if you want. Don't worry about sticking around if you've got other things you need to be doing."

apocalipped and I are both on major SP warnings today -- she vis a vis her previous availability post, I believe, and me because end of semester = ALL THE PAPERS.

I'll be around-ish -- and probably more than

apocalipped, I'd guess -- but don't expect much in the way of speed today. ^^;;

While Troy was there, he was a little distracted. He had his laptop in front of him, trying to sort through all the references to tax evasion to see if he could find anything on these Auditors.

It wasn't going well.

Jono was here mostly out of a sense of responsibility, really. He'd brought some random sheet music, whatever he'd grabbed from the coffee table before heading down, but mostly he just had stacks and stacks of books, taken from the library.

He really wasn't expecting anyone to show up today. Not with all that was going on. But if they did, they were welcome to take a sheet of music or a book to flip through, however they saw fit.

Elphaba arrived, thinking it both simultaneously important and foolish to be at rehearsal. But she wanted to work on things, and even had had some thoughts regarding her monologue.

She was a bit subdued, but she seemed a little more lively than at the last rehearsal.

Guess who's also finishing all the final projects? SP, woo.

"I wanted to try my monologue," she said, having approached Troy. "I... I think it would be good to share something of the true Oz."

Raven came down after she finished her library shift. She had something of a headache due to staring at texts all day long.

Raven soon made her way over to Jono to sit quietly by him. She didn't have much to say at the moment; she just wanted to be close.

Miley appreciated the opportunity to just rehearse, and spent the time warming up and then working on her song. She was a bit subdued, though not as much as she had been the week before.

Karla...didn't feel up to talking to anyone. Instead, she just co-opted the piano before Rinoa could and started banging out scales. Angrily.

She'd probably be at this for awhile.

Kenzi was there. With all the buckets of paint that had been in storage, and a considering look of, "Should I go steal some more?"

She also had a bag of donuts for Rapunzel, ~~her new minion~~ for when she showed up.

Kenzi wandered by, splattered in paint, and paused for a second. "Do Ride of the Valkryies!"

There's always someone who yells requests. The zombies sympathize with you, Karla.

Petra's attention was on other matters, but she was here and sort of listlessly nibbling on a cookie.

"Get me the sheet music!" Karla snapped back. "I'm not from this world, I don't know these songs, apparently, I don't know anything!"

...Uhh, don't mind her, Kenzi. Girl is working through some issues.

"It's probably in the bench," Kenzi said, staying out of whapping range. Well, except for Karla having magic to hit her with. She leaned over and hit a few notes at the high end-- Kill the Wabbit! Kill the Waaaabbit! and said, "Too much coffee?"

Mercy was here. Where else did she have to be other than holed up in her room?

But she found it hard to just randomly sing her music. She practiced often enough in her room and she just kind of felt silly standing around in a room singing while everyone else did their own thing. Not to mention that it was really hard to sing a delicate song while someone was banging out scales loudly on the piano.

Not that she blamed Karla, she'd kind of like to be smashing things herself.

Petra bestirred herself to ask, "Did the piano do something bad?" because it was a nicer question than, 'Did you seriously try to kill yourself last night? Because radio basically said you did.' Which was what she actually wanted to ask.

"Not enough," Karla growled. "Or not enough booze. Maybe both."

Definitely both.

She stopped smashing keys long enough to sift through the sheet music and pulled out the song Kenzi had mentioned--and then got sidetracked by the sheet music for something called Beethoven's 5th. Okay, yes. This looked like a song she could really identify with right now.

Dun dun dun dunnnnnnnn

It was official. Karla loved this song.

"It sassed my mother," Karla said shortly. "I'm teaching it a lesson."

If Karla had known that people were considering it an attempt to kill herself, she would have been extra-not pleased. Sure, vanishing would be the end result, but that hadn't been the why she was doing that.

She hit another wrong key and huffed, then started replaying the section. This would really be better without her slamming her fingers down. "By playing badly."

Kenzi eyed her. She hadn't heard Radio yet, so had no idea what bug had crawled up Karla's butt; maybe it was just everything that was getting to everyone else.

"Hang on." Kenzi wandered off, and returned with coffee, that she carefully put on top of the piano. "Booze I can't get you right now. Stop by Caritas on Thursday, we'll talk." She paused. "Smash those foot pedals! Louderrrrr!"

Petra figured everybody who tried to kill themselves thought they had a real good reason for doing it, but that didn't mean they really did.

"But what if that's what it wants?" Petra asked. "You can't let it win." Relevant on more than one level! "And I can't sing along to the wrong notes."

Tara took some cookies, though she seemed to forget they were for eating and not for moodily staring at pretty much as soon as they were on her plate. She stole a few glances at Karla, but it seemed like she'd said what she had to say on that front the night before.

Also, angry powerful people were not Tara's favorite ever.

She had her sheet music in hand, and was singing to herself under her breath as she watched for Rinoa.

Close was good, right now. Jono was in need of company just as much as she was at the moment, and tried to think comforting thoughts, if nothing else.

They knew what the attackers were called. They knew, in fact, that there was some sort of attacker. That on its own suggested that there was a way to make them stop.

He didn't speak. He wasn't sure what he'd even say. He did reach for her hand, though.
