Dite's Decadent Delights, Monday Afternoon

The last place Karla wanted to be was at work (or, you know, on the island at all), but unlike people kept insinuating, she knew her duty and she did it. And she'd be damned if she was going to skulk about and hide in her room, regardless. So here she was, chin up and head high, inventorying the stock since it was doubtful they'd be getting any deliveries soon.

There were a few more snow globes left, but she was saving those. In case there were people about who wished to share their uninvited opinions about her actions the other day.

Cassidy was just practicing her aural and sight shields at their highest strength to see what she could do, really. That was why the door opened and the only thing to be seen was a pot and mug floating to the counter. The pot smelled a lot like hot chocolate and mint.

Nothing to see here but chocolate for you, Karla. Really.

Cassidy is not at all hopingpretending that she is really invisible to Karla of all people.

When the door opened, Karla glanced up and noticed the blank spot that meant a lighter Jewel was shielding itself. "I can see you," she murmured.

...Not that that was stopping her from pouring herself a cup of hot cocoa, mind.

And smiling, just the slightest bit.

"Good thing I wasn't really trying to hide from you now, isn't it."

Even tired, Cassidy was doing her best to be cheerful.

"Well, I wasn't entirely certain it was you," Karla admitted. "Just someone with a lighter Jewel than me. And somehow I'd doubted it was Shira."

The odds of it being Surreal were so small as to be laughable.

"I'm the only one that would try to sneak you mint hot chocolate," Cassidy said with a grin. "Shira would have tried to tonic you." Her smile faltered. "If Shira tries to tonic you, please at least pretend to take it?"

"Can't I just remind her that I'm a Black Widow too and a Healer to boot?" Karla asked, giving Cassidy puppy eyes. "Dun wanna tonic."
