Cafe Luke's, Monday

Vincent was feeling an Italian vibe, today -- complete with a crown of oak leaves.

Yeah, he knew that was an Ancient Roman thing, not a modern Italian thing. He just liked to accessorize.

Lojack let out a bark and propped his front legs pon the counter.

"Hungry," Jack said with a chuckle. "If you're doing Italian today, I'd love a meatball sandwich. Lojack will have... Well whatever you want to spoil him with."

"Well, at least you're not asking for a cheeseburger," Vincent said with a small sigh, putting in the order and throwing in some Italian sausage sans broccoli for Lojack. "Things been quiet up at the school?"

"Other than the weekend I spent doing dirty jobs around the island? Pretty quiet, actually. And then there was day I sang out loud some ridiculous song. Thank God no one heard me."

"I missed that one," Vincent said. "But I did end up judging a fashion design competition." Vincent shrugged. "On the other hand, nothing's blown up, turned to gold, gone invisible, or otherwise destroyed itself on me in a little while, now."

"I'll take singing any day." Jack's sandwich was ready, so Vincent brought it over with a mug of Vinspresso. "Though I'm wondering what we're going to get, next. Maybe we should start a pool."

"Oooh. I like that," Jake said biting into the sandwich and then speaking with his mouth full. "Especially since I'm not a sheriff and have to deal with the aftermath. I feel sorry for the sucker who has that job."
