Friday Evening: Outback Steakhouse.
There had been a bet. A bet that Matt had won and was now about to reap the rewards for.
So the grin on his face might be because he was going over the menu to see what his options were or because of his dinner partner. Most likely the latter.
"So what's the most expensive thing on this menu?" Matt asked as his hands went over the braille menu. "Because I think I'll need two."
[Matt is here for one though post is open for anyone needing a Bloomin' Onion.]

She'd taken a lot of time to look good tonight, even if she thought that probably wasn't totally necessary. She was wearing a blue dress with a short skirt that flared out at the hips, and had curled her hair so it looked fluffy and bouncy.

And he appreciated that.
"Are you sure?" he grinned. "Because I think ordering two Bloomin' Onions might end badly for the both of us."
no subject
Which would likely be what she got. She had diabetes, you see.

"Well I'd expect fine dining establishments like this to provide their own pop tarts," Matt said grinning back. Okay, really he was just grinning because he couldn't see her because blah blah blah blind.

"Excuse, me," Matt said politely. "May I see your pop tart menu?"
The waitress rolled her eyes and informed Matt that there was no pop tarts.
"Fine," Matt said with a disappointed sigh. "I'll just have the house salad and some ice tea. Stacey? Do you know what you want?"
no subject
"Same for me," she said, handing off her menu. "But make sure my iced tea is unsweetened."

You're welcome, everyone who could have sugar.

"So tell me Stacey," Matt said leaning back in his chair again. "How did a nice girl like you end up on a crazy island like this?"

Matt grimaced slightly as he thought about Stick.
"He has a strange since of humor."

Was he giving Stacey a sly look?
Maybe.

Like Stacey had reasonable supervision to begin with.

Except for the part where Matt would sneak out at night and train with Stick. But even that was pretty controlled.
"But he's been that way mostly since my accident so I'm pretty used to it."

Yes, she had to work up to saying it out loud.
Everyone was probably lucky he wasn't a lesson for something or other by now, really.(no subject)
