Cafe Luke's, Saturday

The thing about being a Eurekan transplanted to Fandom was, Vincent knew how to go with the flow. So while there had certainly been some shrieks upon waking up that morning to discover the alterations to his form, by the time he opened up the diner, he was back in his usual high spirits.

He was letting his ~~NPC~~ staff handle the cooking today, though. He had far more hair than he was used to, and it was much, much too fabulous to be pulled back into a hair net, today.

Fried green tomatoes
Fairy cakes

Luke's was open, and full of some odd ideas as to what it meant to actually be girly.

It's an all-girl staff, today, though some of the previously-guys weren't taking it as well as Vincent.

Who was probably too distracted by trying to pick out a girly name for himself to recommend a tea party.

Jon was actually in a decent mood, and decided on enjoying the day rather than opening the shop. And food was on the menu.

"Can I get one of each of the specials?"

"Sure thing, honey!" Vincent said. "New to town, or just new to the body?"

Jon grinned and took a seat at the counter. "Neither. I've taken a ride in this body a few times. What about you?"

Vincent looked down at himself, then tossed his hair over his shoulder. "This one's a first for me. But, hey, nothing's getting blown up, so I figure why not have fun with it?"

"Exactly! I mean, it's a lot harder when you're like, in a war zone, but hey. Things happen."

That had been sort of fun too, but in a totally different way. "Plus, the girls will get their turn sooner or later."

"Will they?" Vincent approved. "How equal opportunity of the island! Back home, if something like this happened, it'd just end up being life threatening and wouldn't get fixed until moments before all the men in town experienced full molecular breakdown."

"Yeah, that was a fun weekend too. My girlfriend at the time showed up, borrowed some clothes and then asked me how the hell I managed to walk. I fell over laughing."

He frowned at the whole 'molecular breakdown' thing. "That doesn't sound cool at all. But yeah, usually the island just has fun with us. Like all the possible future kids showing up the day after prom."

"Who knew one island could be so exciting? And on a quantum level, even. Though time travel's a tricky one. It's banned by international agreement, you know."

What, didn't everyone know that?

Nope. Didn't know that at all.

"Huh. The IOA in my world gave up trying to stop the SGC from pulling stunts like that."

"Really? And the Swiss didn't have anything to say about that?"

Switzerland, in Vincent's world, was very protective of time. They about had a fit when GD tried to bring in its own more accurate atomic clock.

"Nope. Not after we offered to let them, and China, be the ones to go fight the aliens trying to kill us all."

They even managed to not break it! Much. There was that whole 'fish where previously had been no fish' thing.

"Well, sounds like your world's got it all worked out then," Vincent said, sounding rather dubious about it all. "We haven't even made first contact, yet."

"Well, two things to remember. Never let your archaeologist touch anything, ever. And never eat the cake that was made only for you. It usually means you're getting married to the native who made it."

"Well, our archeologist got fossilized anyway. And I'm usually the one making the cakes."

Mia Tyler is freaking gorgeous, you guys. She almost made me wish I had more Vincent icon space.

Oh man, she is! And totally awesome too.
