'Dite's Decadent Delights, Friday afternoon

Kenzi had spent the night at Bo's, after a harrowing evening of watching zombie-doll interaction. No way was she going back to her room to stare at the walls and wait for the dolls to get her. She'd done that at Bo's instead, refusing to sleep and consuming more and more caffeine until she twitched randomly.

Then she got back to the dorms to find she had Detention. Much, much pouting.

So, coming into the shop, she'd stared at the mannequins, then said, "It's nothing personal, guys." Then locked them in a storage closet for the day.

'Dite's is open, and Kenzi is caffeinated, cranky and sleep-deprived. Enjoy your shopping experience!

Who is grumbling in Russian, with interspersed French.

Toby'd left for his lunch break a little bit early, so he'd have time to stop by 'Dite's and visit Kenzi before heading off to the Student Council meeting. So, takeout bag full of pasta from Goodvalor's in hand, he stepped in to the store just in time to catch one of those streams of curses. Not that he understood the Russian, but like every good Canadian kid, he knew the interesting French words.

"Tabernac!" he added emphatically. "...Wait, why are we swearing?"

"Because we are having a sucky, sucky day." Kenzi had to smile at him, though, especially when she could smell the bag from here. "Although it just got better."

"You're only saying that 'cause I brought you food," Toby teased. "How sucky is sucky?" he added, a note of concern in his voice.

Kenzi leaned over the counter to kiss him on the lips, then leaned back with a grimace. "I have Detention tomorrow. For no reason." She'd be a lot less mad if she deserved it.

Okay, deserved it for something specific.

"Laaame," Toby agreed, leaning in to the kiss. "Can they even do that? Just... give you detention for nothing?" Apparently they could, Toby, seeing as they'd done just that.

"Supposedly," Kenzi grumbled. "Me and Topher and Rilla, for crying out loud. Rilla. That's the only way she'll ever get Detention, aside from crazy weekends." She made a face. "And I only had like, an hour's worth of sleep. I was up all night waiting for dolls to come get me."

"Ugh," Toby shuddered. "Yeah, those were- special. Would an invite to the dance next week help cheer you up?" he asked.

"Yes!" Kenzi hopped up on the counter then give him another kiss, and a hug. "I should play hard to get and mess with your head, but oh wait. That never works with you."

"I do have a bit of an unfair advantage there," Toby smirked. "...Not that I use it to take advantage. Of you. Um."

"Heeee." Kenzi grinned, reaching for the bag. "No? No peeking at all? But then, you don't really *need* to..." Considering how up-front Kenzi was about certain things.

"Well," Toby scratched the back of his neck. "Not always peeking on purpose." At best, his powers were like a radio where he could turn the volume down but not off. "And you do have this habit of pretty much saying what's on your mind." Times when she was running some sort of con aside, of course.

"Hey, I am what I am. Except when I'm Toni Soprano." Kenzi searched for a plastic fork, and then grinned at him. "Dinner before the dance next week? Doesn't have to be fancy-schmancy."

"Mooby Land?" Toby suggested, trying to keep a straight face.

He would not take her to Mooby Land for a Valentines dinner, no.

Sad face. Sad, sad face. Even if she was laughing on the inside.

"*I* can go somewhere else, you know."

"Where's the fun in that?"

Kenzi looped her arms around his neck, and said, "You want me to persuade you into something else." Much more kissing-ness!

"Mmm," Toby grinned. "Do your worst."

Kenzi proceeded to do so. With great enthusiasm. For several minutes.

"... now can we go somewhere nice?" Heeee.

"What, the appeal of a free toy with meal purchase just doesn't do it for you?" Toby heaved a sigh. "Iiiii think we can arrange something better, yes."

"Yay!" Another hug and then Kenzi was digging out the lunch food. "We'll have so much fun, you'll see, it'll be awesome!" Hmm... and maybe she'd get him a surprise...

Oh look! Food! To be eaten! And hopefully conceal all 'surprise' thoughts!

Around all day, snowed in with a cold. Kenzi's cranky, I'm not. Mmm, cocoa.
