The Community Center, Saturday Morning
The party had died down by the time morning rolled around. Some people--like Karla herself--had left the night before, finding their own beds (or not their own beds) to sleep in. Others had curled up with the pillows and sleeping bag thoughtfully provided and went to sleep wherever they could make themselves comfortable.
And at some point in the night, the pollen faded away from the air, leaving people to wake up and feeling normal for the first time in a week.
Or, well...maybe not-so-normal.
Oh, Fandom.

Wake up!
Re: Wake up!
"It's gone," she murmured, a smile lighting up her face.
Of course, she was still herself, so she was one of the lucky ones.

The second was that she was wearing a nightgown, instead of her pajamas.
It must have been a better night than she remembered, she thought, and she kept thinking that until she went to the bathroom and rinsed her face. Or, rather, she rinsed the very-pretty-but-totally-wrong face looking back at her from the mirror.
She came back into the sleeping area in a panic. "Guys?" she said urgently. "Um. Am I losing my mind, or do I look like Surreal?"
Re: Wake up!
Well, the first thing was, Anna woke up. Anna hadn't slept in more than fifty years. Zoned out for days on end because who could keep track of time when you were alone in a house, sure. Slept? No.
Everything felt...wrong. She felt warm, and heavy, and she didn't remember a heartbeat being so loud, and her heart was beating, her hand fumbled to her chest to feel it and the texture of the fabric there was all wrong, and what was that rushing in her ears, it was like her chest was burning--
She remembered to breathe, taking a great, gasping breath.
That was so weird.
"I'm...alive?" she muttered softly to herself, and then she sat up and looked down at herself and realized that, wait. This was all wrong. She'd been on the thin side before, but not like this, and the clothes were all...
It was the pair of combat boots sitting nearby that clued her in. She remembered Kenzi showing her those combat boots, when they were talking about how she needed shoes.
"Oh, no," she said. "Oh, no, oh no oh no." Since she could hardly go racing through the town barefoot like this, she grabbed the boots and jammed them on her feet, trying to lace them up with clumsy, uncooperative fingers.
