The Perk, Saturday Evening
Something weird was going on with the island today. Karla was going to be grateful that the craziness had skipped her this time and celebrate in true Fandom fashion:
She was going to sit at one of the tables in near a big window, with a cup of coffee and a bowl of ice cream and watch the madness.
Yup.

Lenore watched the girl for a moment. "Hey," she finally said. "So what is this place?"
no subject
Sound more sure of yourself, Karla.
"I'm Karla. And you are...?"
Besides emphatically not Tara.
no subject
The disclaimer might have been unnecessary, but it was something she was used to humans wanting to know. May as well get it out of the way.
no subject
Though, if she knew that
TaraLenore was a vampire, that might have changed her mind just a little bit."Wanna join me? There's plenty of table for two."
no subject
"Thanks," she said, sliding into the seat. "It's nice to meet somebody friendly. Girl in the room where I woke up was a total bitch."

Angel had had himself a busy day! He'd met Giant Man and he'd been nearly eaten by a pony and all sorts of things. And if there was one thing that poking all the inanimate objects on the streets could do to a Squaddie, it was work up an appetite!
Hungry heroes were cranky heroes, after all.
And so Angel was ambling into the Perk, making his way up to the counter and standing on his tiptoes to try to see the menu.
"I should grab some supplies to fly back to the X-Mansion..."
It was probably a very, very long flight, after all.

Even knowing this one one of the weird weekends had not prepared Karla for seeing her boyfriend somehow teenified and wearing powder blue tights.
"Hell's fire and Mother Night."
The boyos were going to love this.
no subject
Oh, did the boyos really have to find out about this? Really?
"Angel," Angel corrected almost immediately, turning around and blinking at the girl who was staring at him. "My name is Angel."
He was in costume, here. Duh.
no subject
"Right," Karla said, eyebrow arching upwards. "Angel. Of course."
He was so...wee. It was the only word that seemed to sum him up accurately.
"...You have no idea who I am, do you?"
no subject
Wee and adorable, Karla. You forgot the adorable part.
"Well, you're not Miss Marvel," he ventured, tilting his head her way and trying to puzzle it out. "Or Emma Frost..."
He was going to be here all day, trying to place a costume on her in his mind's eye. But really, there were only so many blonde female Squaddies to choose from, here.
"The Invisible Woman?"
... No, no, probably not her, either.

She shapeshifted into the form of the Raven that apparently belonged in this place (making sure to wear all black since that's what had been in the closet) and walked into the Perk. "Hi, Karla," she said. Amazing that she knew how to do her voice when she'd never met her before. But that was how her mutant power rolled.

Raven sat down at the table. "A lot of people are acting strangely, aren't they?" she said, ever-so-casually.
no subject
That would mean something to the real Raven. Promise.
"But you know how it is," she added with a casual shrug. "Fandom."
No, Karla. She didn't know how it was.
no subject
"Fandom," Raven chuckled. "Of course." Well, at least she knew the name of this place now.
She was still starving, and since they were conveniently in a place with food and drinks, she said, "Mind if I grab something to eat?" She stood back up and headed to the counter, and returned a few moments later with a bottle of water and a sandwich.
A ham and cheese sandwich.
Oops.

Also, hey, blondes. "Hey, gorgeous, where have you been my whole life?"
He thought he was smooth, yes.
no subject
She wasn't interested anyway, but a female liked a little bit of effort!
no subject
"I thought about the being tired because you're running through my head, but that'd be cliche." Because he was the Flash, see?
no subject
Cliche? Nope. Mostly because Karla had no idea who this male was. Other than possibly insane, what with his little ear antennae or whatever they were.
"You don't even know me, do you?" she checked. Because Karla normally didn't get hit on by random males.
no subject
"No, but I'd like to," he replied, all cheerful sincerity.

Thankfully the other-Bobby had so thoughtfully left a few crumpled up dollar bills in his jeans pocket, and so he was able to order and pay for a large iced coffee.
Taking his drink, he went and found a free table to sit down at. Which just happened to be the one next to Karla's.

After the debacle with Raven, Karla wasn't taking any chances.
