One of the computers in the back room had blown a few circuits. While Ender wasn't the engineer that Ben and Tony were, he was proficient enough to do something about it. So, instead of settling down for intel and research as per usual, he was currently in the back room, fiddling with motherboards.

He'd have the whole project finished by the end of the day - it really wasn't that complicated - but for the moment... anyone coming in would have to call for him to get him to show up.

Hi there, Ender doing mechanical things! Ben was going to stare at you for a little bit, looking ridiculous.

Ender doing mechanical things was... rather busy soldering, actually, and didn't really notice Ben staring for a few moments - maybe minutes - because he was rather intent on not getting this wrong.

He did look up eventually, though, and offered a cursory, "Ho, Ben," with a little smile.

"Ho," Ben replied, looking a bit flushed. "What are you working on?"

"Circuitry shorted out on this machine this morning," Ender said, waving in the direction of the machine in question. "I'm just fixing it up."

"You look--" he decided "hot" would not be the best reply here, "--intent."

Which, in Ben's mind, was also very hot.

"Well, you know how easy it is to screw up a motherboard," Ender said, glancing at him.

"I do," Ben agreed, hugging Ender from behind (which was...probably not the greatest choice at this particular moment, ahem) and kissing his cheek. "Hi."

If Ender noticed anything - which he did - he didn't make mention of it. "Hi," he said instead, sounding a little amused, and put the soldering iron down. "What's up?"

Ben blushed. "Um."

Don't make the obvious joke, Ben. Don't do it.

"Not much?"

Ender snorted softly, and turned his head to kiss Ben on the cheek as well. "Good news, then."

Ben blushed more, still not entirely focused on the conversation. "Yeah," he said, resting his chin on Ender's shoulder. "Hi."

You did that already, Ben.

"Yes, hi," Ender repeated. He picked the soldering iron back up. "Try not to throw off my aim," he said, and got back to - careful - work.

Even Ben wasn't crazy enough to try something while Ender was holding a soldering iron, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to enjoy the view a bit.

Weirdo.

"Take your time," he said, smiling.

"Just until I've got this in place," Ender said.

Which didn't take all that long - he'd gotten most of the work done already. It was still a few minutes before he set the iron aside, though.

"That should hold it for a while."

"Good," Ben said, leaning in for a not-so-gentle kiss.

Ender had the good sense to move the motherboard out of the way before getting too involved. Then he hooked his arm around Ben's neck and kissed him back.

Good call, Ender, as Ben was not remotely concerned about the fate of the motherboard. If it got broken, well, Ender would have to fix it again and that was only happy news as far as Ben was concerned.

For now he was much more interested in kissing Ender than worrying about the tech.

Ender leaned back against the workbench to make this more comfortable, his hand settling on Ben's hip. Lunch would be a while, then.

Ben was just lucky he wasn't that hungry.

Ben's narrative was restraining itself from mentioning a different kind of hunger, as Ben's narrative was classier than that.

He pressed up against Ender and let his hands wander a bit.

"Still at work," Ender murmured, but didn't stop him.

"I'm rewarding you for such excellent soldering," Ben mumbled inanely.

"Oh, is that what you're calling it?" Ender asked, smiling at him. "I must be mistaken, then."

"You are," Ben said, nodding Very Solemnly. "It's important for employees to remain motivated."

Not that Howard would use these methods.

"And yet suddenly I feel indescribably lucky you're not my boss," Ender said, a little amused. "I do like getting things done."

"Do less soldering," Ben suggested with a slight blush.
