The Perk, Monday Morning
Dorian had still been sleeping when Kate had slipped out of the hotel room. See, she had a quest, and that quest was to acquire all the best breakfast foods from around town for him for a Monday morning feast, because as much as she didn't want to think about it, this was probably going to be their last day together.
But there was still plenty of it left. And somewhere between JGoB (mmm, donuts) and the Perk, she'd been surprised to run into Christian this early, but that had been cleared up with a shrug and an "I was hungry". Of course he was hungry. All her children seemed to have inherited her bottomless stomach for sweets. He'd unsurprisingly tagged along with her to the Perk, and she couldn't say she minded. Wasn't every day you got to sit at a table by the window at your favorite coffee place, taking phone photos of your teenaged son as he stuffed his face with muffins.
Well, not if you were Kate, at least. Maybe this quest was going to take a little longer than anticipated.
[Ooopen, for all your Kate/egotastic demigod spawn/general Perk needs!]

He didn’t get the chance to finish saying what he thought the philosopher had been on about, because Jack cut them both off when he spotted Kate. He hadn’t thought he was so old at 20, but he was too old to listen to more philosophical bickering from teenagers who both seemed to be better-informed than he was.
“This is my friend Kate,” he said, rather firmly. “Kate, this is Felix and Christiana. I have two others back at Ronan’s house.”
“You don’t need to sound as though we’re property.” Felix sounded offended, but smiled pleasantly as he turned to Kate. “Very pleased to meet you.”

"You don't already know me?" Kate asked, raising an eyebrow but smiling all the same. "I'm hurt." No she wasn't, and that was obvious. "Hello, Felix." She nodded at the girl, too. "Christiana."
Beside her, Christian was keeping his mouth shut, for once. If he looked like he was sizing them all up for things he could steal from them, well, that was just his face.

Behind them, Jack was checking for his wallet. It was just something about the look Kate's son was giving them.

"And what about me, Mom?" Christian asked, leaning back in his chair. "Oh, yeah," Kate said, glancing, over at him. "This is Christian. Christian, you know Jack, right?"
Christian gave them a lazy wave. "Yeah, we've met. Hello."
no subject
To Kate, he added, "Christiana is part of a set of triplets with Emma" -- not that he though the mother was any surprise. "Sebastien and I adopted Felix."
no subject
Christian shrugged. "Don't know, I can only speak for where I'm from. But, it's Luke Castellan." A pause. "And my grandfather's Hermes."
He said that just because, really. He didn't get to mention it often, living among regular flavor mortals.

It wasn't all that hard to spot the table of blonde after grabbing his coffee. "Aww, isn't this cute."

Kate gave him a little wave too. "Hey. Think the table will withstand the awesome?"

Kate rolled her eyes. "No one's gone crazy as far as I know," she supplied. "Though I've mostly been hanging out with Bod and Dorian."

Kate silenced him with a light thwap on his shoulder. "You have two kids with Percy?" she asked Luke. "Dude. How's that going for you?"

"Mum?" Dorian called, trying to find her. "Muuuuum!"
Bod wasn't too far behind and he could even see Dorian through the shop windows as he made his way up.

That made Christian, too, look curiously over towards the source of the voice. Still chewing on a mouthful of muffin, naturally.

Christian was still trying to swallow.

With Bod's help, of course.

Christian had finally won the fight of demigod versus muffin, and he tilted his head, looking the little boy over with an idly critical eye. "So you're the famed Dorian, huh?"

"Hi!" she said cheerfully as she reached the counter.

She wasn't usually this wee in Lynn's time.

She was always happy to see her big brother. Even in the past when he didn't know her, yet. Huh.
