Fandom Fish 'N Bait - Friday

Today was a bad, bad day for Jon. A day where the cricket shipment had broken open, as did a wrong shipment of North American Green Tree Frogs. The result being a lot of happy frogs chasing after unhappy crickets and making a lot of noise.

The solution? Put up a sign that says
Free Tree Frogs!
Find one, and it's yours!

"You know, when most people do this, it's with eggs," Jono greeted as he peered his head into the shop.

He couldn't help it. He was still feeling antsy about seeing the kids off on Monday, he'd been out for a walk, and he couldn't help but overhear a spectacular amount of chirping as he had passed by tie Fish 'N Bait. Sometimes, a person just needed to get nosy.

"These aren't temporary Fandom frogs that are just going to up and vanish tomorrow or something, are they?"

"Lord, Joni would have a heyday with those," he mused, stepping inside and peering at the bucket. "They eat crickets, do they? I'd have to get some of those as well, I imagine?"

Note how this was not an immediate no, Jon? Jono was thinking maybe a tank would look fairly not-out-of-place in the lobby at the Boards, if nothing else.

And, really, he was just a big kid sometimes, and frogs were pretty awesome.

"That desperate to be rid of them, are you?" There was something almost like a grin in return as Jonothon took this into consideration. "How many frogs have you got, there? I was thinking perhaps something for people to look at in the lobby of the Boards. You know, while they're waiting for the doors to open. Could put a little sign on there, 'terrarium donated by Fandom Fish 'N Bait,' or something of the sort."

It was a good business move!

Also, froggies!

No, really. Sometimes Jono really was a twelve-year-old boy at heart.

Jono will take all the justification that you can possibly dish out, Jon! All of it!

"And how many of those twelve would you be willing to part with? I was thinking maybe just a few for the lobby, but if you want to get rid of more beyond that, I imagine I could set up another tank in my room or something. Lord knows I've got the space for it." A beat. "I would pay for the second tank myself, of course."

The froggies. He wanted them.

"And humidity is only a matter of a spray bottle, or just regularly watering the plants," Jono mused. "You do have terrarium plants here, yes? Or am I going to have to get creative with those?"

Jono was not afraid of getting creative with plants. But the prospect of making a trip to the mainland in order to get them was making him hesitate a bit.

"Nothing in particular really leaps to mind," Jono noted, ignoring the unintentional pun he made with a shrug. "I'm not exactly the world's greatest botanist, mate. I'll take whatever a tree frog or ten is most comfortable in, and whatever looks good in the tank on the side, I suppose."

That Jono. So difficult to please.
