Anna realized it didn't really go with her super-pious cover story to be working as a bouncer at a bar, but she figured if anyone asked her about it she could always tell them it was part of her ministry. And then babble at them in Finnish until they went away.

She'd lost the blazer, which meant she was now down to the little tie thing fastened around her neck--wasn't there a ghost story about that, she mused? A girl with a ribbon around her neck? Ha.

It was better to think about that than the music wafting out from inside. John Tesh: yet another thing Anna would have been glad she'd missed, if she'd known who he was. Any other week the DJ would have probably been lucky if Eric got to him before Anna, honestly. Especially by hour three.

Salutations was open for all your wholesome fun needs!

Where Anna was being even more thorough than usual about checking those IDs.

"Hello, darling," Edna said, holding out her ID. "Did your uniform suffer unfortunate accidents?"

"Religious exemption," Anna reminded Edna as she checked her ID. "Don't worry, though, the one you gave me is safe and sound in my closet." Or...somewhere. She still hadn't found the shoes, and was currently wearing her shiny purple brogues.

"Nice shoes," she said with a wink. "Very snazzy."

"Thank you, I like them," Anna agreed with a smile as she handed Edna back her ID.

Where Tiny was wearing sleeves (and the rest of the shirt) but probably not happy about it.

Tyrion was in uniform, more or less. He'd lost the tie somewhere, and his boots fit so much better than the assigned shoes that he was willing to take the chance. If anyone asked, he'd say the little green creatures had spirited off the assigned footwear.

He ordered wine and watched the door, wondering who else might need a drink tonight.

"Fancy seeing you here," Edna said with a pleased smile.

"I could say the same to you," Tyrion smiled back, swiveling on his stool. "Island's been treating you well?"

[OOC: And unfortunately I was just about to head off, woe. SP?]

Edna gestured impatiently at her shoe, where a little green alien was clinging. "I made a friend," she said dryly.

[OOC: Yes please! Damn those kids keeping us away from the keyboards...]

Tyrion looked appropriately horrified. "I'm fairly sure that isn't a student. Cute, if you like green things."

"I had never considered green things one way or the other," Edna said, giving her foot an experimental shake.

"I'm opposed to mold, in favor of trees, and uncertain about that, " Tyrion supplied. "What does it do?"

"You saved my life. I am eternally grateful," it said for what, judging by Edna's expression, was not the first time.

Or the hundredth.

"That," she said.

Tyrion considered it. "You would think one wouldn't get tired of being praised," he mulled. "And yet."

"I think it's the tone of voice," Edna said, climbing up in to a chair. "It never changes."

"Like some type of talking machine," Tyrion said thoughtfully. "Yes, that may be the irritating bit of it."

He sipped his wine.

"Of course the island isn't behaving itself during your visit. How are your overlords taking it?"

"Oh, badly of course, darling," Edna said, signalling Tiny for a drink. "But so far the Howells seem cheerfully oblivious."

Tyrion gave her a thoughtful look. "This is not meant as in any way a criticism of our illustrious benefactors," he began. "But are they, perhaps, a brick or three shy of a load?"

It would help explain the obliviousness, at least. Though not how they kept their money.

"Oh, I think so," Edna agreed. "But they cannot stay here. One morning they will wake up and it won't be cheerful aliens, it will be eyeball-sucking aliens and THEY WOULD DIE!"

Well, that got a little excited.

"Possibly take their money with them, which would be terrible. Along with them being dead, of course."

"My father has money," Tyrion said, kicking at the rungs of his bar stool. "But I'm not certain he'd think a school in another world was a proper place to put his gold. And he'd make the Howells look like models of tolerance."

"And there's the trick," Edna said. "We need someone very rich, but one who doesn't ask many awkward questions. It's incredible the Howells haven't checked in on their investment sooner."

"They must have so much money that our budget is nothing to them?" Tyrion speculated. "Or perhaps they're trying to spend it all quickly so their children have nothing left to inherit."

"I don't think they have children," Edna replied with a thoughtful frown.

"Then isn't that even more reason to spend well while they're here?"

"I think so," Edna said, grinning. "Especially on this fine establishment."

Jon wandered into the bar, several tiny green aliens clinging to his pant legs, with many more following behind him.

"Beer. Lots of beer." That was his order.

"John Tesh?"
"The devil."
"Well, that one was a gimme..."
