Stark Industries | Saturday

Topher was finding himself extra-jittery today. Maybe it was that fourth Mountain Dew before he'd really gotten out of bed this morning, or maybe it was... no, you know what, it was definitely the Mountain Dew.

Either way, he was practically bouncing at his desk over at Stark Industries, so he fashioned a sign to hang up on the door:

GIVE ME SOMETHING TO FIX AND GET A FREE BAG OF WIRES

It was... possible that Topher didn't know what kind of incentives most people were going to go for. But he tried.

Yakko didn't bother so much with the door. He just popped up on the other side of the desk. "I have something that needs to be fixed, so I'll take that free bag of wires!"

Holy crap, that was alarming.

Give Topher a second to recover from a... talking dog?.... popping up on the other side of his desk. It was a thing, okay. A startling thing. "Uh, okay," he said after a pause, reaching for a couple of wires from a drawer. "What do you need fixed?"

Yakko reached down to the ground and picked up an adorable little dog.

Oh yes, he went there.

"His name is Wuffles, but between you and me he should probably be called 'Randy,'" Yakko said.

Wuffles barked adorably.

"What?" Topher asked, missing the joke and also the point. "We don't, uh. Fix dogs here."

"Well, you should be more specific! I demand my bag of wires anyway," Yakko demanded while Wuffles panted adorably.

"Your sign says 'GIVE ME SOMETHING TO FIX.' Just because you refuse to do it doesn't mean I didn't give it to you," Yakko pointed out. "Now where's my bag of wires?"

"This isn't my dog," Yakko said. "And you can't make assumptions. The sign says I should get a free bag of wires, and I'm not leaving until I have a bag of wires!"

"You can buy one," Topher offered helpfully. "We just got some new titanium wire in. Twenty bucks for ten feet of it."

"Oh, I have that already," Yakko said, pulling a DVD set of an HBO show out of his pocket in a special edition metal case. "What I don't have is a free bag of wires."

"That's not what the sign says," Yakko said. "The sign doesn't even say you have to fix it. So live up to your end of the bargain and give me a bag of wires."

"That dog's annoying," Topher commented, pretty much just because. "Here."

He rummaged through a drawer, cut a short wire into a few smaller pieces, and stuck the pieces in a bag. "Here you go."
