JGOB- Sunday afternoon

Day two of being here and Jaina had dragged Anakin out today to get some training in. The way she figured, if she were able to beat him, she'd have a reasonable chance of beating Jacen. As it stood, she decided she had a lot of work left to do, even if she really didn't want to have to go on to destination #2 in order to do it.

Afterwards they headed for food or coffee or both- Jaina was sticking to coffee- and a chance to actually talk. "It'd be really nice to have more time here," she decided.

"And not just so I could make you babysit," Anakin agreed with a smile. "You looked pretty strong with the lightsaber."

Which was code for her getting the best of him once and him trying to be gracious.

"Still got a way to go," she said, finding a seat. "I'm trying to change things up. I guess I was more used to my own style than I thought."

"You trained with Deadpool yesterday?" he asked. "That can't be normal. Ever."

[solo_sword]

"Well he did throw a knife at my head," she said with a shrug. "Which is something I should probably prepare for anyway. But I definitely learned some things."

[sith_happened]

"Good," Anakin declared. "He's out of his mind, but in a good way."

Beat.

"You know what I mean, right?"

[solo_sword]

"I do," she smiled. "And now I'm that much more prepared."

And totally aware that she was basically going to have to mentally start from scratch in a lot of ways, but that wasn't a bad thing even if she hated knowing it.

"Good," Anakin said, looking serious. "When are you getting back here?"

[solo_sword]

"Assuming all goes well and I'm not shot on sight by any Mandalorians, I'd like to come back here before I rejoin with the Jedi," Jaina said. "I'm not sure how long that'll be, but probably not long your time."

Anakin made a face. "Ugh, Boba Fett. How is he still alive?"

[solo_sword]

"No idea. But he might be my only real shot at preparing myself, so I'll take it." And Jaina sounded thrilled about it. Thrilled.

[sith_happened]

"Ugh," Anakin said, making another face. "Make sure he doesn't disintegrate you. I'd be displeased."

[solo_sword]

"That might be a little out of my control," she said, just a touch dryly.

[sith_happened]

"I don't suppose telling him that Anakin Skywalker would come back and make the sarlacc pit stick would help at all," Anakin mused.

[solo_sword]

"Oh, my dad would definitely beat you to it," she pointed out. "And I'm not sure I want to give a Mandalorian the knowledge that wonky timelines can happen..."

[sith_happened]

"...good point," Anakin admitted reluctantly.

[solo_sword]

"Besides, there are too many links between our families as it is. I think keeping things uncomplicated might not be so easy." Hence why she really thought she might be in trouble if she couldn't plead her case before getting shot.

"Like what, other than me hiring him to capture Luke?"

Good times. Good times.

[solo_sword]

"To say he and Dad have a longstanding rivalry is putting it lightly," she said. "But most recently, Jacen interrogated Fett's daughter to death."

[sith_happened]

Anakin hissed. "Not smart."

[solo_sword]

"No. Fett sent Dad some gear to use in taking out Jacen, probably knowing he'd never use it. But if he'll do that, maybe he'll help me," she shrugged.

"What kind of gear?" Anakin asked suspiciously.

[solo_sword]

"Crushgaunts, and some armor made out of some iron that lightsabers won't cut through," she answered.

[sith_happened]

"Are you going to use it?" Anakin asked.

[solo_sword]

She shook her head. "I didn't take much interest at the time, so Jag used the pieces for part of his own armor. Helped save his life, too," she said. "But I figure if Fett will spend that many credits to make a point, maybe he'll help someone who's serious about squaring off with Jacen."

Anakin looked thoughtful, then nodded. "He might," he said. "He doesn't exactly love the Jedi..."
