There was a ... shoebox-sized thing on the workbench at the back of the store today. Victor would have been more specific, except even with his powers all he got from it was that it had wires poking out and might either play music or make tea. Or both. Or it might be an electronic toenail clipper for giants.
He started playing with it anyhow. By the time his shift was over, it would be useful -- even if the precise way it would be useful wasn't quite in evidence yet.
Whatever happened with the thing, he was happy to have an excuse to stay away from the tents for a luxurious eight hours.
