The Perk [Wednesday]

Savannah was in the Perk with the largest mocha frappaccino that she could order. On the table in front of her was a listing of housing located on Fandom. She couldn't live in her brother and sister-in-law's guest room forever. And, since they wouldn't let her pay rent, it didn't really feel like it was hers in any sense of the word. (Something she would never ever tell Sean.)

So, here she was, caffeine in hand and looking for houses, apartments or rooms in houses to rent. She wasn't sure she necessarily wanted to live alone, but she needed some place that she could call at least part of her own. Maybe she should talk to Angela about an artsy place together?

Seating today was an easy choice. With anyone else she might've asked first, but she had no qualms about just dropping into a seat near Savannah once she'd wrangled a drink out of one of the barristas.

"I could swear, this coffee smells better every day."

Savannah grinned at her. "I agree with you, so either it really does, or we're really desperate for the caffeine."

"The addiction took hold long ago." Of that, Angela was sure. "If this island cuts us off again, at least I'm in a better way to just take off somewhere they do have caffeine than I would've been."

She laughed. "Let's not see what happens when we're in the same place and there is no caffeine to be found. That would be bad for everyone around us."

"Everyone," Angela agreed, and blew lightly on the liquid in her mug. "What's all the paperwork?"

Savannah took a drink from her own cup.

"This is me looking for an actual place to live that isn't with my brother and his wife."

Angela grinned, "Feeling a little cramped already?"

She grinned and nodded. "I want a place that's mine, you know? I love Sean and Annja, but I kind of need somewhere that I can have my own space."

"I can completely understand." As someone living out of a hotel, she had all kinds of experience of that feeling.

"I took half a look around when first came back here. There's some nice places."

"So, when I get a place, you could move out of the hotel for the rest of time you're here," Savannah tempted with a grin. "We could have a mini artist commune or something."

"Can it be called a commune with two people?" Angela laughed.

Savannah laughed. "We can call it whatever we like. It'll be ours."

"That is a fair point." Angela leaned forward to look at the lists on the table. "How are the contenders looking there?"

"There's a house on Sphinx that looks kind of interesting. Two levels and a detached garage in the back."
