Ben was working on his astromech droid as he usually did during a slow time when the lion's roars began echoing through the shop.

He got up and checked. No lions.

Weeeeeeird.

Stark Industries was open! And strangely African.

Ender paused on his way in, puppy William on his heels. "Did I just hear...?"

"Yeah," Ben said. "Anakin's hiding in a bag in the corner now."

"William will probably be glad," Ender allowed, shutting the door behind him. "Is there actually any kind of predator here?"

Ben shook his head. "Just the noise. That's weird, right?"

"Well, it's Fandom," Ender pointed out practically. "Noise is fairly low on the weird scale."

"True," Ben said. "Maybe I should look for microscopic lions."

"Probably not a bad idea," Ender said, "Sitting down on one could be awkward."

[momslilassassin]

"Especially if that makes them grow," Ben added.

"Let's try not to make our hypothetical lions into bigger threats than they are until we find them," Ender said.

"Good point," Ben said, leaning in to kiss Ender lightly. "Anyone ever mention that you're pretty smart?"

"Occasionally," Ender said, and kissed Ben back. "Not that that'll save me from your hypothetical expanding lions..."

"Something's roaring," Ben said, "and it's not Anakin."

"Or William," Ender said. He got up and walked towards the workshop, poking his head in through the doorway.

"If we find a beagle roaring like a lion, it better get recorded," Ben declared.

"I'll keep that in mind next time you turn into a cat," Ender said.

"I'm an adorable cat," Ben said.

"You keep trying to sleep on my head," Ender said. "It's not very charming."

"It could be worse," Ben said. "I could still be trying to do that."

"You're not usually sleeping when you're on my head," Ender said, amusement in his eyes. "I'll give you that."

Ben burst out laughing. "That was terrible."

"You bring out the best in me," Ender told him, smiling. "I could have made it a philosophical question, I suppose - what is man when sitting atop another man's head..."

"Taller," Ben declared.

Ben failed at philosophy.

"I'm glad you're not in my class," Ender said. "You'd be terrible. No respect for Plato and shadows in a cave at all."

"I'd rather just build a flashlight," Ben admitted.

This was why he was friends with Tony.

Ender walked back towards him, sliding his arms around Ben's shoulders. "Sometimes," he said, "But not all of the time."

He pressed a kiss to Ben's forehead.
