Outside the Perk, Monday afternoon

Few people back home would recognize the clean cut young man sitting outside the Perk Monday afternoon, a cup of tea to one side, a stack of papers, recipes, and a notebook laid out in front of him. He was freshly shaven, his hair nicely combed and entirely naturally colored -- he was even wearing a sweater vest. A sweater vest. And he was diligently working away on this week's lesson plan for his class.

There was absolutely nothing suspicious about Boaz Priestly. He worked very hard to keep it that way.

He was at least wearing a t-shirt underneath his sweater vest with a picture of a crocodile playing electric guitar. He refused to give up his awesome t-shirts entirely.

Tim was very glad lately that he'd figured out a way to keep from sweating through his nice suit. It might not be the most practical outfit for the weather, but it was what one wore when they were a responsible adult, right?

Must be, he was wearing it.

Of course once he was "off duty" he was totally changing into something more comfortable. If still respectable.

Right now though, Tim was really craving a cold drink. Maybe iced tea, or even iced coffee.

"Afternoon Priestly." he smiled. "How's class going?"

Tim didn't take the lack of enthusiasm personally. It was hot, and while Tim remembered his summer of teaching fondly, he knew the job could be stressful.

"Oh not bad. Quiet for the moment. Things always get a bit hectic when new students arrive, but that's mostly done for now."

Somewhere deep inside, Tim was raging at what he'd been made to do to some of those new students.

Tim would likely boggle for a moment, then try to "sedate" Priestly till he came to his senses. Probably get him out of the heat too.

"Well, you know. Culture shock. People from other dimensions, time zones, planets even. And of course some people take a bit to get used to how things are done here."

Tim had a vague recollection that it had taken him a bit to get used to such things as well. Wit possibly some yelling. He didn't like to think about it.

Yes Tim could tell you from experience that Umbrage was not a fan of snark.

He laughed. "Yeah that was an...interesting look. But, we all gotta grow up right?"

After a hard day of making sure everyone followed the rules to the letter because no one wanted detention (it went on your permanent record!) Annie decided to stop off for some refreshment.

Decaf. No one wanted her caffeinated, either.

"Happy Monday," Annie greeted him brightly. "One day closer to crushing the resistance!"

She wasn't even Imperio'd, y'all.

"Every day's a good day if you just look at it right," Annie replied. "Are you?"

[identity profile] doesntpatent.livejournal.com 2012-07-24 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
"See, that's the spirit," Annie bubbled. That really was the best word for it. "What's the lesson? Or is that a spoiler?"

"Oh, it really can. If something's really glaringly not right, you can totally tell," she agreed. "At least try, right?"

"Don't suppose a girl could get a totally very handsome gentleman to buy her a tea and scone for her lunch break?" Momoko skipped to a stop at the table, hands behind her back, clutching her purse, as she beamed a happy smile at Priestly.

First he'd have to break the imperio curse, but then... well, at least the making out could happen: Momoko still liked cats.

She thanked him, and took the seat, her smile warming at the look he gave her. It made her feel so happy and silly. "I'm totally lucky, then to have found you, then. How has your day been? I thought you had lesson plans to write today?"

"Mmmm. Can you make this for me sometime?! It sounds delicious!" Momoko turned the cookbook she'd been reading back towards him, fairly drooling. "So far the day has been fine! I'm doing some summer cleaning, getting ready for full classes to start."

Why yes, Momoko actually couldn't wait until the fall courses started. It meant things for Momoko to do at the school office. "I'm not sure how they can find anything in those old files, though. If I didn't know better, I'd totally suspect the moose was the original office manager."

"You are so awesome to me!" She rested her chin on her palm to beam at him. "I think we'll be fine. We aren't expecting a large number of new students this year, so that's a bonus."

"We have a few new teachers coming, though. That's usually the hardest part- finding residences, making sure they can follow the curriculum..." Momoko shrugged lightly. They always had problems with teachers who wanted to teach their subjects their own way. "We'll be assigning teaching buddies soon."

Yakko ran past anyone standing outside the Perk on his way inside. A few minutes later, he came back out carrying a giant cup of cappuccino and a surfboard. He tipped the giant cup over and as a wave of cappuccino started down the street, he jumped in to surf the wave.

The wave of coffee.

Honestly, there probably wasn't any time to react to the insanity before he was gone, leaving anyone around as poor witnesses of pure insanity. Yakko would apologize, but he was down the street.

Also, if anyone looked back at the coffee cup, it would already be gone. Not by magic. By cartoon physics. It was different.

[OOC: Apologies for blatantly using your post for this. It just seemed like something that needed to be done.]
