The Perk, Tuesday morning

Bruce had a late night in one of his hidden workshops in his apartment (he had three... look, it was a large apartment!) working on some weapons. He'd heard about the plan for detention this weekend. He wasn't sure yet how that plan would affect his cover (maybe even rendering it needless), but it was a potential game-changer. So he needed to be prepared.

Unfortunately, being an up-and-coming figure in the Umbridge High regime meant he couldn't really afford to sleep in after a late night. He needed to be out, active, and awake in the daylight. And that meant a trip to the Perk, where Bruce could caffeinate himself while apparently working on lesson plans. That work would probably go a little more smoothly if the barista weren't in the background singing about the specials of the day. He had to give her some credit. At least she wasn't lazily using things ending in "-cino" for her rhymes.

[OOC: Open, although I will be slow due to work!]

Soon, Bruce would get a visitor.

To be more precise, he would get a serenade from a well-dressed girl with newly red hair.

Nothing you could say
Can tear me away from my guy
Nothing you could do
'Cause I'm stuck like glue to my guy

I'm stickin' to my guy
Like a stamp to a letter
Like the birds of a feather
We stick together
I'm tellin' you from the start
I can't be torn apart from my guy

Juliet smiled a bit when she finished. "That was a little strange, but ... hi! Are you being all teacher-y?"

She still couldn't believe her boyfriend was actually teaching.

"Thank you," Juliet said as she ran a hand over said hair, and sat at the table on the side that seemed least likely to be crashed into by a barista grand jeté. "The blonde's getting a teensy bit tricky to find on the island, so I figured -- really, red's more sophisticated, isn't it?"

"So am I," Juliet smiled. "So, how are you? How was class? Are most of the kids behaving?"

Juliet did not like being reminded she was still in school.

Juliet scrunched her nose, shrugged. You can call me any day or night, call me ... When you're ready we can share the wine, she suggested melodically. "I don't mind. We knew you had to grow up sometime, right? And nobody's coming down on us about the teacher/student thing, which is perfect."

"Oh, I'm not even worried about what comes after summer," Juliet averred. "There are planes and Skype and things. And for now, getting a chance to get out of the dorms sometimes and see you is awesome. I wish people would settle down and behave so we had a nice peaceful time on the island, but..."

She shrugged. What could you do?

"You could maybe even stay until I graduate," Juliet suggested -- slyly, she thought. "Pretend you're British and call it a gap year. And then we could start college together."

She eyed him thoughtfully. "Are there actual plans on how to end things, or are you just talking? tell me more, tell me more...

"Why, thank you, kind sir," Juliet said affectionately. "It'd be amazing if you were right. I could have a peaceful, normal senior year."

Having people get killed in front of your dorms was just tacky.

"Is there anything I can do?" Juliet wondered. "I've been talking about Umbridge every chance I get, but maybe there's more."

"Consider it done," Juliet said firmly. "And maybe in a couple weeks things will be better and you'll be able to relax a little more."

Juliet shrugged delicately. "Take your girlfriend on vacation when it's a little easier to travel?" she tried. "For a start, anyhow."

"Paris?" Juliet tried. "I haven't been since I was small, have you?"

"It never is, is it?," Juliet agreed. "Even when we're home" -- and that was a twin-we, not a me-and-you-we -- "finding the time and getting everybody to agree to the trip can bite. There's always somebody acting like New York will fall apart without us. Add in school and it gets even worse."
