Stark Industries, Tuesday, July 24

Victor really shouldn't have been surprised that a stereo in the store was singing at him as he came in. The devices in the repair shop turned themselves on all the time; Victor usually just tried to ignore it so he could concentrate on his private work.

Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto
Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto
Mata ahoo Hima de
Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto
Himitsu wo Shiri tai

But when he felt compelled to jump in with a verse of his own --

You're wondering who I am
(Secret, secret, I've got a secret)
Machine or mannequin
(Secret, secret, I've got a secret)
With parts made in Japan
(Secret, secret, I've got a secret)
I am the modern man

I've got a secret, I've been hiding under my skin
My heart is human, my blood is boiling
My brain I.B.M., so if you see me
Acting strangely, don't be surprised

-- that was a tad more unusual, especially as there was a herky-jerky robot dance involved that Victor just found tacky.

And who the hell was Kilroy?

He puzzled over that as he hooked himself into a national defense network and started scanning for any vulnerabilities Victorious might be able to take down one day. It was always good to be prepared.

[OOC: Open. OCD fled because it's embarrassed to be seen with someone who sings Styx.]

Topher always listened to radio. As a result, Topher wanted to speak with Victor. Ask some questions, keep up on things, hang out with his favorite robot, you know.

"Whatcha doing?"

[[will be slow, because SOMEONE wants birthday cheesecake, but should be quicker later!]]

Heh. Victor looking to him to give orders never failed to amuse him.

"Nah, that's okay," Topher granted, because he was a generous robot-reprogrammer. "Just for fun, or to, you know, take them over?"

[identity profile] nomoralcrisis.livejournal.com 2012-07-24 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Cool," Topher said agreeably. "I bet SHIELD would be awesome to run. All those... people to keep up on, and everything. Eyes everywhere and stuff."

Where another universe's Topher might have been heartened by that, even reassured, this one just snorted. "Nice harmonies," he said. "And solid plan. I'm always up for some world domination."

He swung his arms, took a few steps toward the desk, then said casually, "So what were you talking about with Tony yesterday?"

[identity profile] nomoralcrisis.livejournal.com 2012-07-24 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Because the guy seemed sketchy, he was always talking about things like he needed to justify them, and with his tech skills he was probably the only person on the island who stood a chance of reprogramming Victor for himself?

...So maybe Topher was a bit paranoid.

"Just wondering," Topher said. "He's kinda weird. You know." He shrugged. "As long as he didn't, like, try and play with your circuitry, or anything."

[identity profile] nomoralcrisis.livejournal.com 2012-07-24 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, he did want to be the only one. Very much so.

But really, not dirty.

"He might," Topher admitted. "He made me my taser thing." Wait, that wasn't appropriately discouraging. "But you should ask for a laser gun, not, you know, an upgrade," he added. "'Cause otherwise he might do something weird."

And, say, make Victor bring him sandwiches. Which would be cruel.

"Sucks," Topher said, with very little sincere sympathy behind it. But since it was apparently the Great Battle for Victor's Affections this week, he added, "I could try and whip up a laser gun for you, if you want."

He pondered that.

"Heh. I wonder if I could use my old laser tag equipment as the base for it."

...Only Topher.

[identity profile] nomoralcrisis.livejournal.com 2012-07-24 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." It wasn't like it would've been that good a gun, anyway. "Just. Tell him no touchy. When you ask."

Yes, Topher. He got it.

[identity profile] nomoralcrisis.livejournal.com 2012-07-25 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Awesome." Topher shot him a thumbs-up. "Oh! And I'm patrolling tonight, so, the usual sandwich and Mountain Dew afterward?"

TOPHER.

[identity profile] nomoralcrisis.livejournal.com 2012-07-25 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
That was probably best, yes.

"Let's go with Doritos," Topher decided after a moment to contemplate that. "Thanks, V."
