28 Sphinx Street, Wednesday Evening

After her visit to the detention center, Savannah bypassed her usual haunts and patrols and went right home. Once she was through the door, she set up the spells that were keyed to only her and Angela and then went right to the bathroom to be very sick. When she had emptied everything out of her system that wanted to come out, she cleaned her face and brushed her teeth.

Her visits to the detention center and what she had to do to keep up her cover always rattled her, but it had been so much worse today. Of course, that probably had something to do with the fact that Sean wanted to kill her and she had to pretend to torture her own mother.

Changing out of the pink and black outfit and into something more her own style, Savannah went into the living room to sit on the couch.

Angela had long ago rid herself of her dark, Loyalist 'uniform' for the evening. With the curfew in place, she definitely was not planning on risking going anywhere she'd need to dress up for. It wasn't worth taking any chances.

A couple of large mugs of coffee in hand, she wandered in from the kitchen to offer one to Savannah. It wasn't the best way to drown sorrows, but it was a start. "I almost missed you come in." That wasn't entirely typical.

"... Oh, sweetie." There were really no words that could make something like that any better. All 'I'm so sorry', the 'you had to' and 'if she knew--' didn't really do squat. Which is why Angela chose not to even say them this time, but her feeling of relative calm faded.

Instead, she just took a seat on the couch beside Savannah, her free hand brushing the other girl's arm in some kind of comfort. "Bothering me is not something you should even be thinking of." Especially after a day like that.

Angela laced her fingers carefully between Savannah's, and shook her head. "It's not going to get there," she said firmly. "This place, is not going to get us." It'd taken a hell of a lot, but on that one point she was determined. They'd made it so far.

"It is not going to come to that," Angela repeated, partly a reassurance for Savannah, and partly for herself. "They do not want the trouble that would come with that. I can spit with deadly accuracy," she joked lamely.

She knew full well that she could do absolutely nothing if their carefully constructed lie fell apart at the wrong moment.

There was a moment, before she forced herself not to get her hopes up, where excitement tugged in her chest. It wouldn't be the first time they'd tried to go on the offensive, and it had never worked out before. Why would this time be any different?

"Is there anything we should be doing?" she asked after a moment or two.

Yeah, Angela was already not certain she wanted to hear this. There was nothing like talking about the possibility of dying then asking someone to do something for you to throw a little extra unease into your conversation.

"Something like... what?" she pressed, despite her better judgement.

"... And what, just leave you here?" No, she definitely didn't like this part of the conversation, Savannah had been dead on with that prediction.

"After all of this, I'm not just going to run." There were moments, yes, that she'd been tempted. But all of the scenarios running through her head had involved Savannah coming with her.

This whole thing smacked of a goodbye in a way that she was not quite willing to take straight off. "By 'anything we should be doing?', I was thinking something to help us win, not... to plan for defeat." Not that Angela wanted to fight, as such, but she felt like there had to be something she could do that wasn't abandon island ship.

"All the more reason to have someone around on your side," Angela argued. "And there's at least one or two Resistance folks who know about us. They'll vouch for you. For us."

"Sweetie, there has always been that risk around here and not because of you," Angela pointed out, squeezing Savannah's hand. Well, since Umbridge, anyway. "I can handle it."

"I'm not going to be out there beating people with chairs, or... whatever else. But I can wrap a bandage or distract the hell out of someone just great."
