Mooby Land, Sunday Morning

There was fighting. There was a lot of fighting going on. And April was sure it was a Very Big Deal to the people who were doing it.

She, however, was not one of them. On the contrary, after escaping detention and following the trail of Hulksmash out of the school building, she wanted nothing to do with the fighting. The only thing she wanted anything to do with right now was food. And maybe some beer later, but for now, food.

So she could be found in Mooby Land right now, having A Moment with some cheeseburgers. She highly doubted anyone was going to come and yank her back into detention with all the fighting going on, and the intense stare she'd given the cashier had definitely scared him out of any ideas he might have had to report her, so she might be here a while.

Calvin was still not entirely there on this whole being back outside thing, but he did know that after years of gruel, he needed a burger, or three, and a rare one for Hobbes.

Yes, the toy tiger got his own burger, that was very important.

April was briefly startled to see that face in her inbox halfway through a burger when she noticed Calvin, and didn't look up until she was done. Then: "Yo."

Calvin looked around to make sure he was the one being addressed. "Hey?"

April just nodded, not really up for extensive conversation... ever, but especially now that she had burgers to bond with.

"Breakout was fun."

Calvin nodded. "Hobbes had my back." Which was why he got his own burger.

"Did he now." April raised her eyebrows, not challenging him. "That where those stitches came from?"

"No, those where from..." Calvin didn't, hadn't let himself think about it for a long time. He wasn't really keen on thinking about it now either. "...before."

She nodded. "If he's up and eating now he must be mostly recovered," she offered.

April Ludgate, was that an attempt at being comforting? COULDN'T BE.

"He's been a lot better since that green guy showed up." Now that Hobbes was acting normal again, Calvin could actually acknowledge he hadn't really been recently.

"Yeah?" She peered at Hobbes critically. "What was he doing?"

"He was quiet," Calvin said. "Real quiet. I had to do stuff for him."

"And now he's... chattier?"

Calvin nodded. "More active too." He'd have thought Hobbes would have gotten enough of pouncing on him in the last day, but he kept doing it.

Mostly because Hobbes had actually been aware enough to notice when Calvin was about to walk into something that'd get him killed.

April nodded. "'s good," she said, in her Totally Professional Opinion. "You want your pet tigers active."

She wasn't mocking him, not at all. This was just... April.

Like Calvin would even notice if she was.

"You do?" he agreed. "Else they get fat and lazy." That earnt him a glare from Hobbes.

"Better make sure that's his only burger, then," April reasoned. While starting in on a third... or maybe fourth.

"It'd be best for him," Calvin agreed. He, however, was planning on eating all the burgers.

"Good plan," April said, tilting her chair a little so she could reach over to him for a high-five. With a burger in her other hand.

April was Classy.

Considering that Calvin didn't bother to put his burger down to return the high-five? They could be Classy together.
