Graveyard [Tuesday, Evening]
Kate was so damn over this week, last week, and by that count, the best part of the past month.
On any normal day, she might go hit something, but she was miraculously all out of untapped violence and kind of achy. Besides, she’d celebrated this particular day exactly like that last year and variety was the (slightly depressing) spice of life.
Her nice and believable Bruce-supplied fake ID had got her as far as a couple of bottles of Boone’s Farm hard lemonade, and there was a perfectly servicable gravestone to prop herself up against while she raised a small toast to Voron.
No, it wasn’t her father’s grave, but this was about as close to having a drink with him as she was going to get these days, without taking a long trip back to Savannah. It would have to do.
[[ open... graveyard, should anyone else be likely to wander there on an evening. ]]

All her fancy weapons were at home, but it wasn't like there was ever much going on here anyway, so that was fine. She flipped her stake idly in her hand as she walked, but when she spotted a figure by one of the gravestones she started toward it.
"Kate." She nodded at her former student (the 'former' was key; she didn't have to be disapproving of the booze, and that was nice) in greeting. "Interesting place for a party."

She eyed the stake a moment before her eyes slid back up to Kennedy's face. "Expecting someone?"

She glanced down at the bottles. "But hey, as places to hang out go, there's worse, right?"

"You're free to join, me and... Jeffrey, here." He didn't seem to mind his grave being used as a party venue so far, and if he did even think of becoming any less dead to get revenge, that probably wouldn't go very well for him in given company.

Perching on the top of an adjacent gravestone, Kennedy checked her watch-- yeah, plenty of time before her portal-- and asked, "So... any special occasion?"

Kate mulled her question over, rather unnecessarily, before she answered. This was probably the only day a year she'd actually talk about anything like that. "And family," she answered after that moment. "My father... He would've hated this stuff." Possibly, that was part of her reasoning.
