It was Alec's first day at work in his life, and so far, he didn't hate it.
It was quiet, for one thing -- apparently weapons shops weren't the social hub of the island, which was rather reassuring, all things considered. And quite a bit of the merchandise was really, legitimately fascinating -- honestly, he could spend all day just walking around getting familiar with the place and its inventory.
By the time he settled down at the desk after a more-than-thorough tour of the shop, he felt pretty good about himself as an employee. This arrangement was going to work out well.
