The Devil's Nest- Sunday

The Devil's Nest was basically a zoo this weekend, that's what it was. A soul zoo. This wasn't changed at all today, when Jaina came in followed by a black panther, who was currently pacing behind the bar.

"Settle down, you're making Tiny nervous," Jaina told him.

Which was code for 'you're making me nervous' because Jaina's soul would be the one to pounce on someone.

Don't mind the panther. He won't eat you.

Jaina assumed as much, anyway.

Know what'd be funny? All the animals cutting a rug.

No seriously if Eric had a Swedish fish that would be kind of fantastic.

Eric didn't. Eric had a fucking Clydesdale and it had taken him most of yesterday to figure out how to get it out of the fucking basement.

Eric was in a wonderful mood, thank you for asking.

"You mess up the floor and I'll turn you into Gummi Bears," he snarled.

Einaris snorted. "If I had a dollar for every time you've said that," he said in a Swedish-tinged accent, "I'd be up to my withers in hay and fillies."

"Nice giant horse," Jaina said, temporarily leaving Dahanain behind to not attack Tiny.

"He's a stallion," Eric said proudly.

Though that was fairly obvious if you knew where to look. Ahem.

"Congratulations," she said, totally not looking there. "How did I get the predator and you didn't?"

Because reasons, Jaina.

"No idea," Eric said sulkily. "You got a panther?"

"He keeps pacing. If he had thumbs I'd get him started on Angry Birds," Jaina said. Really, if she didn't have hands, pacing would probably be how she entertained herself, too. "Why do you say that like you're surprised?"

"I want a panther," Eric said. "Can I trade in my horse for a panther?"

"No," said the horse.

"I'm sure you have a horse for a reason," Jaina said. Again, not looking there. "Besides, you probably don't want something stalking everything like it's waiting for the right time to kill stuff- Okay, mine makes more sense the more I think about it."

"How could I stalk anything with the biggest fucking horse ever?" Eric groused.

"Are you planning on stalking anything for a while?" Jaina asked.

"Not now, I'm not," Eric grumbled.

"He's being terribly mature about this whole thing," Einaris said dryly.

"He gets like that," Jaina agreed, knowing it'd probably get her glared at.

Oh, it did, which was probably not the brightest thing to do do with a panther hanging out.

"I tease because I love," Jaina said. "And because it's true."

Eric frowned harder.

It didn't make the Clydesdale go away, no.

"You're still not getting my panther," Jaina told him.

"I don't even want your panther," Eric lied.

"You're a fickle one," Jaina told him.

"I'm decisive," he said.

"And what he's decisive about can change from second to second," the daemon added dryly.

"Yes, thank you," Jaina told the horse, and then looked back to Eric. "He's got you pegged here."

"I'm noticing," Eric said. He didn't seem pleased by it.
