The Devil's Nest, Wednesday Evening

The DJ was continuing his tradition of tempting fate with his choice in music. This time it involved Kpop.

Because he was trying to drive Derek insane. That could be the only reason.

Derek stayed behind the bar, staring over at the DJ as though planning out which organ to remove and in what order. Though it was possibly him attempting to not tap his fingers on the bar in time with the song. Damn you, Psy.

Where there was all the glaring.

"Hihihi!" Pinkie greeted. "Which do you think is better, an army, or lions?"

"What." Make more sense, Pinkie Pie!

"Army," said Pinkie, holding up one hoof. "Or lions?" She held up her other hoof, then wobbled both up and down as if weighing the options, her tongue sticking out of the side of her mouth.

"I think lions. Finland was totally on to something."

Derek took a deep breath before just biting the bullet and asking, "For what?"

"For army-lion-y stuff."

Duh.

"What kind of army-lion... stuff." Oh god, how was this his life?

"The lion-y-army stuff."

How many things involved an army and lions, really now?

Derek sighed again, getting her a damn root-beer to keep from wanting to murder something. "I don't care."

Derek had no joy in his soul. It wasn't about caring, it was about fun!

"Okay, what do you wanna talk about?"

Excuse you, he had plenty of joy. Wait... wait, I meant 'crippling emotional pain'. My bad.

"If I say nothing, will you stop talking?" he asked, putting the glass down.

"Probably not," Pinkie said with complete honesty. "That doesn't really sound like me at all."

Damn it.

Derek sighed again, looking terribly resigned to his fate. His fate that included listening to a pink pony ramble about lions and armies. "What are the lions fighting?" he ground out between clenched teeth.

"Good question!" That was the spirit! "I'm not sure. I guess what armies usually fight."

Equestria didn't actually have an army. There was a royal guard, but mostly, threats were taken out by small teams of determined and magically endowed ponies.

They did have lions, though.

Equestria was a magical place indeed.

"For the love of god," Derek muttered, rubbing his forehead. "Why are you even asking me this?"

"It was part of my class's discussion question this week! I guess it was just on my mind!"

"...what do you teach?"

"Model United Nations!"

Yeah, sometimes Pinkie couldn't really believe it, either.

"..." Derek was pretty sure his entire time on this island was some terrible wolfsbane hallucination again.

"What would you teach, if the school offered you a job?"

"...why would they offer me a job?" He would teach 'How to be a shitty alpha in six easy steps'.

It would be amazing.

Maybe he'd be better off team teaching.

"Oh, I'm pretty sure they'll let just about anyone teach there. They even had a whole class about why the school board would ever hire one of the teachers!"

MAYBE HE WOULD. MAYBE. HE WOULD.

"I don't like teenagers." Because they were dumb.

"You don't like anything," Pinkie pointed out. "Ooo, you could teach something at the community center! I took a class on hats there, once!"

"Hats." Yes, that's what she said, Derek.

"Yup!"

See, she could do the monosyllabic thing, too!

Not as well!

"I'm not teaching about hats."

HE COULD TEACH HOW TO ANSWER MONOSYLLABICLY!

"So what would you teach about?"

HE SHOULD.

Derek sighed. "Bar-tending."

"Oo! That could be really fun! You could teach kids how to make sarsparilla!"

Yeeeeeah, not quite.

Where there was all the KPop.

Where vampires may be.

There was a vampire! Lurking, as vampires do.

I have this song stuck in my head.

I don't think you understand how many times I've watched the marching band version of that song.

It's the dancing that gets me.

And if I could find the gif of Derek and Stiles being overlaid in the video I would have posted it.
