Well. Derek and Ben hadn't yet given up on their plan to do as much "ironic" karaoke on the island as possible, so that was what they were doing at April's bar shift. Singing. While the zombies played. It was horrifying and Ben kept wanting April to take their picture.

So April was drinking, like the responsible bartender she was. She really wished Derek and Ben had stayed home and maybe Orin had come instead, but if she was going to deal with their antics, she was going to need to be drunk for it.

That meant she'd probably be making out with them by the end of the night, but in the meantime the alcohol was helping.

"Hi!" Pinkie said, popping up at the bar like doors were for non-cartoon ponies. "Do you have Prince Albert in a can?"

Rainbow Dash, don't laugh. You're ruining the joke.

And yet... all the laughing.

Fluttershy was not nearly as good at all those funny jokes as the other ponies, so she wasn't even going to try to join in on their games, but it was getting much too dark and scary to go find cute little critters and teal deer to talk to, so she was going to try to stick as close to Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash as she could without bothering them or messing up their jokes too much. So she was just going to try to be as unnoticeable as possible and be so pleased and happy that she had such funny friends and she hoped she wasn't laughing too loud to interrupt them...

...A polite titter behind a hoof every so often. Fluttershy, you are such a loudmouth.

Oh no, Dashie, you're going to set Pinkie off, too!

. . . Yep, there she went. That was going to make it harder to go behind Tino's back and sneak sneezing powder into his dish rag.

"Uh," April said after tossing a look Ben and Derek's way to make sure they were watching this. "No."

April shot Fluttershy a look too. Because it was hard not to when there were three ponies in your bar and two of them were being insane. "What?"

"Well, then you'd better order some before a customer asks for it!"

And then she fell off the stool laughing.

April just looked at her. All terrifyingly.

"It's all been recalled," she informed Pinkie solemnly. "It's poison."

Pinkie looked up from the floor. That was not a typical result of pranking.

"Well then it was really silly of them to sell it for so long!"

"I know," April agreed. "Like eighty people died."

Nope.

Pinkie's eyes went wide. "That's so sad!"

April gave a somber nod. "Yup."

"How'd you find out? I haven't heard anything about this!"

Poor, poor uneducated Pinkie. "Do you read the Pawnee Times?"

If she ever found out April was lying, she'd be very impressed with her pranking skills.

"Nope! I don't think we get that in Equestria."

"Well," April said, "that's where I read it."

She was the best at pranking.

Hmm, there was something fishy here. "Maybe it was a joke issue."

April looked very somber at that. "The Pawnee Times doesn't joke," she told Pinkie Pie seriously. "They're very serious journalists."

Pinkie was beginning to suspect that April was one those folks who just always looked somber. "How'd you get a copy? I haven't seen it on the island."

"Yeah, how did you?" Rainbow Dash liked to think she was just as worldly as any other pony out there. She'd know all about this supposed paper.

April blinked at them like she felt this was obvious. "I'm not from Equestria."

DUH, GUYS.

"I have a subscription."
