Stark Industries, Tuesday, Oct. 30

You're wet, the shop AI informed Victor as he came in from the rain this morning. Paper towels are in the third cabinet to the left. Do not touch the electrical gear with wet hands. You could create a supercircuit and destroy several thousand dollars worth of equipment.

"I know that," Victor said in response, making a beeline for the towels.

Given you're apparently unable to use an umbrella, I wasn't sure.

Victor sighed and, once he was thoroughly dry, went back to work on his homebrew game console. Without electrocuting anything, thanks.

[OOC: Open shop, no OCD.]

Olive was bundled up in an effort to keep dry from the elements, but it was fairly futile. Despite her hood, hair hair was still sticking to her face, and the cuffs of her jeans were pretty much a fully lost cause.

"You should build a generator," she greeted Victor, peeling off her coat and shaking out her hair with a hand. "Or a boat."

"As awesome and impressive as I'd be if I had," she said, taking the paper towels but also leaning over to give him a kiss hello, "I also have to get stuff for pajama club, so I was heading out in town anyway. I'm thinking hot chocolate is going to be a moral imperative for this afternoon and I'm insufficiently supplied. I'm not quite crazy enough to head out in a hurricane for kicks and giggles."

Just for cocoa mix and marshmallows.

"Exactly. What're we working on today? Was I anywhere close with the boat thing?" she asked hopefully. "I could totally learn to drive a boat." Pause. "Pilot a boat? That doesn't sound right either."

"Only if it keeps raining," Olive said, but she was looking interested in this console of his. "'Cause then it becomes, like, an ark situation. You seriously built your own console? What's it play?"

She was hoping the answer was 'everything.'

"Can't you just like...talk to it and figure out what's wrong?" Olive asked, then winced. "Dumb android-related question alert. You have to program stuff like the rest of us?"

"Your work ethic is better than mine," Olive said, shaking her head. "Also? If I could just randomly turn things off or whatever, do you know how many cell phones I'd've messed with by now?"

So many. Sooooooooooo many.

"Touché," Olive said, lifting a brow of her own. "I'll just be thankful that as far as I know, mine remains untouched."

"Excellent reasoning," Olive said, cocking a finger at him, "but also, fourth, I would totally get revenge."

In some horribly clever and annoying way, even.

"And for what it's worth, I promise not to try to exploit your powers for my own devious purposes." Because she'd like nothing more than to disable certain people's toys a few times over.

"Contemplating cajoling you to build an ark," Olive corrected. "My arking skills are very lacking. I'm okay, though. Sort of generally creeped out. Between the weather and last weekend's field trip, this place feels sort of deserted, you know?"

[identity profile] dirtiest-skank.livejournal.com 2012-10-30 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"This is going to sound stupid," Olive admitted, "but I'm kinda not sure I'm ready for space? Plus no one I knew was really going, so I just...you know, chilled here and finished tomorrow's costume." She made a face, and added, "I feel sort of like an idiot for not going but at the same time I think my brain would explode."

[identity profile] dirtiest-skank.livejournal.com 2012-10-30 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Why didn't you go?" she wondered. "You're all sciencey and...I'd think space would kinda be your thing."

[identity profile] dirtiest-skank.livejournal.com 2012-10-31 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Olive frowned sympathetically. "See, now I feel even better about not going," she decided, reaching over (just a little bit awkwardly -- she was getting better!) to affectionately play with his hair a little. "I didn't know you could get homework here. Seriously? Or for an online class?"

[identity profile] dirtiest-skank.livejournal.com 2012-10-31 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Preaching to the choir," Olive said, maybe scritching a little. Boys liked that, sometimes, right? Girl nails were nice? Something? "I have drama with a Norse god and United Nations with a pink pony. Thank god for online AP courses or no college would ever even look at my transcript."

"She calls us 'everypony.'" Olive felt that explained it well. "So, you know. It's like that. Your classes sound heavily geared toward the...depressing." Especially gym. Maybe that was just Olive.
