The Park, Saturday Morning
After giving his beloved mate a gift to prove what an amazing provider he would be, Derek had gone running. While shirtless. Because it was clearly just so hot out that he needed to remove his shirt.
Nothing at all to do with ratings or those amazing abs.
He stopped, looking off at a nearby tree as the memories of his past flooded back to him. His family... Derek just barely managed to choke back those manly tears. Because no, no he wouldn't let that get to him. Not when he'd found his true love in Stiles.

But he was wandering the park happily after dealing with his gift (enjoy the fresh venison, third floor common room), completely oblivious to anything going on around him just in case someone felt like kidnapping him or attacking him or forcing him into some weird supernatural marriage against his will. It happened sometimes. Typically around sweeps.

And Derek wasn't about to let Stiles be forced into a creepy supernatural marriage unless it was to him. He had his standards about that. "Stiles," Derek growled. Because speaking normally would make him lose that mystique he had.

"Derek!" Stiles was not at all inconspicuous when it came to checking Derek out while he was shirtless, filled with awe and wonder that someone that perfect belonged to someone like him. "I was looking for you."

You could tell by the looks they were giving each other.

"I got your gift this morning," Stiles said, hesitantly moving closer. There wasn't really any need to be hesitant considering how well they knew each other but it worked well for dramatic effect. "That was you, right?"
Because, you know. So many people were killing deer for Stiles. It was hard to keep track.

"Who else would it be?" he growled again, getting into Stiles' personal space because he was a possessive sonnovabitch like that. "That friend of yours?"

"Oh, are we fighting now?"
Was there enough left in the special effects budget?!

"Only if you threaten what belongs to me."

Just in case Eric was looking to change his mind.

He knew it was wrong to lust after someone else, but Eric was there and it made for good drama. This wouldn't have happened if you just put out, Derek.

He did not approve of Derek and his mate the least little bit, and it showed.
"What," he asked, completely ignoring Stiles if he was still around, "do you think you're doing?"
no subject
"Being in love," Derek growled. He growled a lot of his lines.

"His humanity is what makes him so beautiful," Derek insisted. "I can't take that from him. That innocence..."
That he lost so, so long ago...
no subject
"You're talking about marrying him," Jack pointed out. "You'll ruin that innocence you say you love soon enough. And besides, is a werewolf marriage even a real thing?"
