Victor was distracted in the shop today, though he fixed a couple small appliances without really thinking about it. He had to come up with the perfect gift for Olive -- something witty, and cute, and affectionate but not scary. And it had to fit within his budget, which was not exactly a fortune.
He spent so much time poking online for gift ideas that he almost didn't notice the cherries and blueberries multiplying on every flat surface. The shop was apparently dressing up for election day.
