The Park [Tuesday morning]
Young Eric had woken up encased in a tomb, which was not his favorite thing (he'd never thought about it before, not being inclined to great introspection, but now he knew for sure: giant wooden box over his head as he slept was a no-go), so he'd bolted out of his room at just after dawn, thrown on some clothes (of a much finer quality than usual) and had gone off exploring.
...well, exploring until he got to the bathroom, where he ran the water for a solid thirty minutes, then spent some time flushing inappropriate things down the toilet. But now he was starving in the way only teenaged Vikings could be, which was why he was crouched behind a park bench with a spear, hoping that one of the squirrels popped out their heads so he could get it.
Mmm. Squirrel for breakfast.
[OOC: Soooo very open and open for SP.]

That was still a novelty to him, so he flicked his lightswitch on and off perhaps ten times before getting nervous he'd shock himself or break the wiring and carefully leaving it off. He dressed in the dark and headed out, deciding this must be one of Sebastien's tests.
Sebastien always had been fond of tests.
In the park, he spotted the young man with a spear and raised his eyebrows. "People hunt in town here?"
Curiouser and curiouser...

modern SwedishOld Norse. So that would be helpful.

//Sorry,// he said, switching to German on the theory it was a likely second language for someone from ... whatever part of Scandinavia spoke whatever Eric was speaking. //I'm new here.//

This was stranger to him than waking up in a house with electricity on the inside.

Because that bore mentioning.
"This looks weird to you too, huh?"

Sixteen-year-old April wasn't that subtle.
In any event, she held up her bag of fast food. "Like wherever this came from," she volunteered. "Mooby Land. That sounds... appetizing."
At least she still had her sarcasm. Whew.

He tilted his head at her, realizing something else from her accent. "You're from the Colonies." Because that was totally what everybody called the Americas, right?

Because of course they were in Pawnee, duh. See all that classic Indiana architecture everywhere? ...Okay, look, she hadn't given this much thought.

Then she spotted the possibly-homeless guy sticking a spear through slates of the bench and got distracted mid-bite. "Uh... hey."

"//Do you mind? I'm trying to kill my breakfast.//"
Because April would understand Old Norse, right?
no subject
"What." Okay, so the guy didn't speak the language and he was cranky. She was further convinced that he might be homeless. And, well, it wasn't like she was loving this fast food anyway, so she reached into the bag and offered Eric an still-wrapped veggie burger.
Vampires liked those, right?

"Whatever, you don't have to have it," April said. Yay, more English for Eric to not understand! She peeled back the paper, giving him a glimpse of what he was passing up. "Veggie burgers are pretty gross anyway."
no subject
"//What the fuck is that?//" he demanded in the equally helpful Old Norse.

Okay, he'd actually just been on his way to sweet, sweet latte goodness, but still. His skills could be used!
"Hello, crazed person!" Loki said brightly. Ikol just sighed from his perch on Loki's shoulder.
