The Devil's Nest, Wednesday Evening

The DJ was once engaging in a vicious game of psychological warfare with Derek. His musical choices this evening? White Christmas played on loop.

It harkened back to a simpler time when Christmas was spent with family around a big, decorated tree. Which meant Derek hated it with ever fiber of his being.

He'd get you back for this, DJ. Don't you think he won't. There will be blood upon the snow and other graphic images of violence around the holidays.

Okay, so Stiles was a little monochrome when he came into the bar tonight. And had somehow grown out his hair since the last time Derek saw him. Was that weird?

"Coke." Preferably in a glass bottle.

And, yes, that was your jacket he was wearing, Derek.

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS WAS WEIRD, STILES. EVERYTHING.

"...what is wrong with you?" Where to start, Derek. Where to start.

"What is wrong with you?" He didn't have to answer your questions, he was badass! Well, badass for network TV.

Derek just stared at him for a moment longer. "You're grey-scale." Stiles, this wasn't a good thing for humans to be. Derek knew. As he was an expert on humans.

He also wasn't entirely sure he knew who Stiles was, but as he'd been drinking all day, Priestly wasn't too much worried about that part.

"I did get a new jacket." That he stole.

"That," Priestly said, shaking his finger up and down. "is a pretty sweet jacket. Also not sure thass what it is, though."

It was Wednesday, and Pinkie was at the bar, in all her bright pink, excitable glory. "Hiya!" she chirped. "Wow, the DJ must really like this song!"

"You're not grey." THANK GOD.

Wait. WHAT.

"Of course not!" Pinkie said. "It'd be pretty silly to be gray with a name like 'Pinkie'."

Priestly strode into the bar already half-drunk and grinning like a moron. "Bring me booze, my good man!" he said to Derek, brandishing his ID.

Yes, he knew he'd already shown it just coming in here. He was newly legal as of this morning, he was going to show that sucker to everyone.

"What kind?" Derek asked dryly. Because he was already 21, thanks. And couldn't get drunk.

Worst bartender ever.

"What," Priestly said very precisely, "do you recommend?"

Because kid knew next to nothing about booze, really.
