Alice's tendency to keep a not-so-healthy distance from people had, up to that point, paid off. Not that she was entirely aware of just what was going on, but some well placed, distant sightings of black-and-white people had been more than enough for her to turn around and have absolutely nothing to do with it.
Then the birds came.
Now, as far as Alice had heard of the weird things that happened on the island, people suddenly losing colors and extinct, not all that dangerous birds suddenly deciding to stick around didn't sound like that much of a terrible thing to happen. Not in theory she guessed. Still, she should probably try to make sure this wasn't some sort of fist step towards an End of the World scenario. Death by Dodos did not sound pleasant, and Alice had conflicting feelings towards shooting them down. Which was funny, considering she had no issues on shooting other things that were supposed to be dead already.
But anyway, there was Alice, walking down the streets, willing to socialize. It was a first, and she wasn't all that optimistic, but hey. She was trying.
