The Perk, Wednesday Morning

Like so many things in Tyrion's life, leaving Fandom was not entirely his choice. Lord Tywin had sent a raven earlier that week summoning his younger son to accompany his siblings on a trip to Winterfell and then, perhaps, on to the Wall.

Tyrion wasn't entirely certain why this outing demanded his attention when so many others had not. He had to assume it would be clear once he got home. Anyhow, he'd fancied a look at the Wall's library for years; it was worth putting up with his sister and the Starks for a few days first. And Jaime ... he'd see Jaime, whole, proud and as happy as he ever got. Tyrion wasn't sure he'd be able to look that incarnation of his brother in the eyes, now that he knew some of what was to come for him. He'd have to stay drunk and hope for the best.

On his last day in Fandom, he got an enormous cup of coffee and set his laptop up on a table at the coffee shop. He couldn't actually read all of Wikipedia before he needed to go, but he intended to make a good attempt at it.

And Jaime was packed and ready to continue upon his way to Riverrun. There could be no more dallying while a war slowly wound down. He hoped.

"Brother," Tyrion nodded, looking away from his magic screen, and cast about for something to say that wasn't iloveyouillmissyouimsorry. "Did you let Zayne know we're leaving?"

If one sibling should be apologizing to the other...

"I'd venture that he'll figure it out soon enough," he replied with an easy smile. There were certainly some parts of the island that he would miss.

Tyrion snorted. "He should. Besides, it might be a trifle hard to get a bill for the rent to Westeros."

He'd stop by the office before he left, anyhow. It wasn't as if they were short on money.

"Where are you off to?"

And they were good at paying their debts, after all.

"Riverrun." There was nothing odd about it in particular. The Riverlands weren't unfriendly with House Lannister just yet.

It was an innocuous destination, and Tyrion had learned his lesson about prying into the future. He nodded, let it pass.

"I'm going to Winterfell, and then on to the Wall," he shared. "I'm going to freeze."

"I have no doubt you'll survive the edge of the world," Jaime informed him with a wry smile.

"I just want to see how far I can piss from the top," Tyrion returned, grinning back. "... and maybe look at a book or two, if they have any."
