Sean was pacing around the store as he spoke on the phone. It was a call he'd rather not be making, given that it was to his mother.
"Yes, mother, everything's fine," he said with as much patience as he could muster. "Yes, I'm still married. No, I'm not divorcing her. Yes, I still have the store. No, I'm not going to close it up any time soon. Did I miss anything? No? Good."
And then he hung up. God, he hated his family.
He dropped down onto a stool behind a counter and prayed the rest of his day was less of a pain in the ass.
