"Yes, I'm sure the low-cal version of TruBlood is very popular with 'demons on a diet,'" Jack told the persistent salesman on the other end of the phone. "But I assure you Mr. Northman does not want to double our order of it. We're barely selling what we order of it now -- no, I don't think it would go over better with cucumber peel flavoring. These are vampires, not teen fashion magazine addicts, for heaven's sake."
He should have hung up there, but for some insane reason he kept arguing the point for another few minutes. He wished he could kill with his mind over the phone; then again, if he could there'd be corpses every week.
The Devil's Nest was open, but anyone on the market for Lite Cucumber Cooler TruBlood would have to look elsewhere for now.
