Some weekends, Toby figured it was better to just hide in his room and not come out.

Like weekends where nearly everyone, it seemed, was dealing with Fandom's latest weirdness. But anyway. Now he was out and about and the droids were speaking more than just... Ocean or whatever it had been last week.

"Yeeeeah," Toby said. "I noticed. That was weird as hell, even for Fandom." And if part of him was maybe a little stung that his mother hadn't shown up, well. Blame canon for possibly making her not-dead after all

"I'm so glad I don't know any dead people," Kenzi said with a small shudder, then hugging him. "All that drama. All that trauma!"

Darnit, it would've been fun in a way. Which Toby could easily tell.

"Because as we all know, you are completely against drama in any form," Toby said wryly, doing his best to squish down his own feelings on the matter.

"Exactly," Kenzi grinned at him. With another hug. Because it kind of sucked that apparently no one showed up for Toby. "So. Apple pie?"

"Fresh from the oven," Toby declared with a flourish. He'd sort of figured comfort food couldn't go wrong on a day like today.

"Exxxxcellent," Kenzi rumbled, rubbing her hands together. "With ice cream!... We should go shopping next week." Or, you know. Shoplifting. Same deal.

"The kind where we exchange cash for goods?" Toby smirked. "Or the other kind?"

"If they're reasonably priced, we can be reasonable," Kenzi said airily. "And if not, well... I need to get props for the play too, you know?" Even if Jonothan *had* said something about receipts.
