The Perk | Tuesday Evening

Stiles was self-aware enough to know that this so-called date with Kate was just her being nice to him, but he really didn't care about that too much. Kate was nice and Stiles liked talking to her, even if he hadn't quite gotten past the fact that she had Allison's face. So he wasn't thinking of this as anything more than just spending time with someone platonically and just happening to call it a date.

If this didn't end in disaster Stiles could finally say he had a date that went well. That there was a one in three chance that you wouldn't end up in the hospital if you went out with him. That was enough of a reason to try to make this work.

[Stiles is here for one then another but the Perk is open for Perkly needs. SP is in effect because of nutty work schedules]

Kate was completely in favor of avoiding a hospital trip for either of them. Call her crazy, but that just didn't seem like a fun way to spend the evening.

She got to the Perk without incident though so all future hospital possibilities are on you, Stiles.

Collecting a coffee - and a huge handful of Mardi Gras beads, Kate made her way over to Stiles. "So they're into their whole New Orleans thing here, I see."

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-12 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's a good policy. I subscribe to it too." Which was why Kate's costume had cleverly covered just her boobs on top!

She slid beads across the table towards him. "Nope, these were the new fashioned 'here, take sparklies' way of distribution."

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-12 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Kate grinned. "Your shirtlessness is a thing of legend?"

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-12 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"Your lacrosse team sounds like a strange, strange place," she said.

Because between Jackson & Stiles what other impression was possible?

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-12 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm from New York," Kate agreed. "I will never argue that that is not a strange place."

Even without the superheroes and random alien invasions.

"You're from California, right? Why is it weird out there?" ...other than being California.

"...see, I always figured werewolves would be up in Washington," Kate said. "All that space to run around without people noticing. But maybe that's me listening to Dusk."

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-12 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
She wasn't saying anything. She was cracking up with laughter but she wasn't saying anything.

"Do actual werewolves care about the distinction?"

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-13 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
"So that totally didn't work," she concluded. Sorry, Stiles, the teasing was staying. You admitted to reading Dusk.

"And okay, Dusk is dumb, but the whole 'having lots of space' thing makes sense. Maybe. Like dinosaurs in Antarctica."

Was Stiles in any way surprised that Derek was across the street? Because if he was, clearly he did't know Derek well enough.

But hey, at least he had Puppy Joe with him as a convenient excuse for his lurking.

Stiles. Please. Derek was a born stalker.

And Derek was just going to stand there. Looking pretty creepy because it was his default facial expression. Wasn't that just the coolest?

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-13 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Old Lace would be happy anywhere Gert was," Kate pointed out, having no idea why there would be a stalking Derek or an ignoring Stiles. "And Washington would probably be good if you were into flannel."

ARE YOU SURE? SHE LOOKED LIKE AN ARGENT, STILES.

Which just meant Derek was going to hang out here. After picking up the dog and holding him in the crook of his arm. Look, it was cold out and the dog didn't have any socks.

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-13 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
"You are wrong, Stiles," Kate informed him. "And you're lucky I'm here to tell you just how wrong."

She eyed him then glanced out the window at the creepy (hot) guy holding the cute dog. "Your friend's dog is going to get cold."
justlurkinghere: (looking down)

[personal profile] justlurkinghere 2013-02-13 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Derek frowned at that, pretending to be busy getting Puppy Joe settled somewhere warm. Somewhere warm meaning inside his jacket now.

He was not a hobo, Stiles. He had a house and everything.

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-13 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Kate snorted. "Big hobo problem here on Fandom Island is there?"
justlurkinghere: (sighing maturely)

[personal profile] justlurkinghere 2013-02-13 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
HEY. HE WAS PROTECTING YOU, STILES.

Derek rolled his eyes in a dramatic fashion that only happened when you were named Derek Hale or Scott McCall. They were a duo of drama queens.

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-13 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Psychos are pretty thick on the ground here," Kate pointed out. Almost as thick on the ground as Avengers (or Avengers-wannabes) and that ven diagram overlapped in a rather large section.

Seriously though, she felt like Stiles' dad was standing out there making sure she didn't corrupt the kid.

[personal profile] justlurkinghere 2013-02-13 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, Stiles. Even if he was out of sight, that didn't mean he couldn't listen in on the date. The entire time.

And, following the Hale code of disappearing like a creeper, he waited until a convenient passing of a rickshaw to vanish from sight.

Seriously, this was something he totally practiced. It was weird.

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-13 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
"...Yeah, I totally didn't guess that all," she said sarcastically.

Even if the 'Shoo!' was kind of hilarious.

The look Kate was giving Stiles could be found right next to 'what the fuck?' in any dictionary you wanted to check.

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-13 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Bad Valentine gift guy," Kate guessed. "Why, exactly, is he a life-ruiner?"

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-13 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
"I'd call that more creepy old guy who needs to find more appropriate hobbies," she replied.

She made a face at Stiles then couldn't help herself. Mostly because he'd said creepy-dude was still listening and Kate was clearly an idiot. "How'd you find out about my evil succubi side? I was keeping that a secret."

"But it's so much less fun for me when you're willing," Kate told him. "We succubi shun flannel. And consent."

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-13 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Just your virtue and life energy then?" She had to try not to laugh as she 'considered' it. "Deal."

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-13 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
"That's exactly the way I'd hoped you'd think," Kate informed him, finding him hilarious. "My magic has done its job well."

[identity profile] hawkeye-too.livejournal.com 2013-02-13 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
"What kind of evil genius would unveil her true plans while your creepy protector was nearby?" she asked.

Possibly Swarm, but what could one expect from Nazi bees?

"No, now you are unprotected, and my dirtily nefarious deeds shall take place."
