The Devil's Nest, Wednesday Evening

The stock of rum had either gone missing or been drunk quicker than Jack could have ordered a new supply. At least, that was what Derek was assuming was the case. Because he sure wasn't about to take blame for this kind of crap.

But at least the music wasn't awful.

Well, not the usual level of awful. It wasn't dubstep, after all. So Derek wasn't terribly interested in it. And it distracted him from the glitter that still clung to everything he owned. Pinkie Pie.

Stiles wasn't completely covered in glitter after he changed his clothes post-class but there was still some clinging to his hands and face. At least his hair had been protected from it, which is more than he could say for Derek.

"Aww you still look adorable and sparkly."

"You look like Kristin Stewart." OH BURN.

"What? How?" He was very insulted by this, yes. "I don't blink as much as she does."

Derek just rolled his eyes, giving Stiles his usual cherry coke. You have him whipped, Stiles. You have him whipped.

SO WHIPPED.

"Aw, thanks--hey, wait I just got what you meant," Stiles said, looking even more insulted. "Dusk jokes, really? You don't lurk in my room enough to be my Edward."

"I don't lurk in your room at all, Stiles." NOT YET. WAIT UNTIL NEXT SOW.

"There really isn't a point to it considering I'm usually at your place." That was completely normal.

"Shouldn't that make you the abusive stalker?" Derek, stop implying you know the plot of that series.

"You're the glittery supernatural creature, sweetheart." And Stiles was the clumsy human.

Derek made a face at him for that. Damn his logic. "Missing a love triangle."

A beat.

"And love."

"What are you talking about, you're totally in love with me!" Yeah, no.

"How do I contain all this love," he deadpanned.

"Your sarcasm hurts my feelings, it really does," he said before attacking his straw. "I'm erasing everything you picked from the Netflix queue."

"No you're not." YOU MADE HIM WATCH FLYING MONKEYS, STILES. YOU OWED HIM.

"Okay, I probably won't." Because Stiles was just as whipped as Derek was. Wasn't sharing a Netflix queue equal to marriage in some countries? "But I'll make you watch another bad movie this weekend."

"What could possibly be worse than the last one?"

Angsty rodeo clowns. Radioactive grizzly bears. Anything Tyler Hoechlin has ever made.

"I'll find something," Stiles assured him. "Syfy keeps outdoing itself."

...fair point.

"I don't know how it's still a network." Because people like Stiles kept watching.

"It's an awesome network," he said. "You seem to always stick around when I'm watching it."

"You took the couch." That meant something.

"You could push me off the couch if you wanted to," Stiles pointed out. "Admit it, you love cheesy Syfy goodness."

"I really don't." He liked the food.

"Aw, so it's me then?" Stiles teased. "If you weren't covered in glitter I'd hug you."

Derek could only respond by rubbing glitter on Stiles' hat. Deal with it, dudebro styling.

"Aw come on! That's not cool," Stiles whined. "Glitter never goes away."

SOCKS AND BASKETBALL SHORTS. WHAT.

"I'm expressing my love."

"Your love sucks." You gave him arts and crafts herpes!

"Ouch. I'm crushed," Derek shot back. "Just be glad your hair is too short to keep the glitter."

And not full of product that kept it in place. Like Derek's.

"I'll have you know that there is a glorious head of hair growing under this hat," Stiles informed him. "It's still a work in progress though."

You were gonna be dazzled when it was unleashed upon the world, Derek. DAZZLED.

"How bad does it look?" Derek, don't be mean.

"It's not, like, horrible or anything." Yes, it kind of was. "Just...a little...porcupine-y."

"Take off the hat." So that he may mock you.

"No." Stiles even grabbed on to the edges of his hat to keep it from coming off by force. "No way, you just want to make fun of me."

"Would I do that?"

Yep.

"Yes you would, you dick," he said. "My growing out phase is for my eyes only. And Cade's too, I guess."

"I'll throw the hat out." Don't think he wouldn't.

"Why are you so mean?" he asked.

"Flying. Monkeys."

"It wasn't that bad!" Yes it was, Stiles. So bad that they couldn't even finish it.

Still, he probably owed Derek a little. Which would be why he pulled off the hat, grumbling under his breath.

He was going to make you watch the worst movie for this, Derek. The worst.

Derek didn't laugh, but it was damn close to one. Sorry he wasn't sorry, Stiles.

"Porqupine is a good word for it."

"Shut up!" The hat went back on almost as quickly as it came off. "You just wait until it's fully grown out, my hair is way better than the Sonic the Hedgehog look you try to pull off. You're gonna be so jealous."

Jealous or overcome with the urge to touch it. Either/or. His hair was fluffy and adorable, dammit.

Where bosses might be. Possibly hoarding rum.

I might have started rocking out to this song at the copier at work today.
