Fandom Post Office, Tuesday, March 19
Yes, cases of rum were still conspicuously missing from the daily inbound deliveries, and Éponine was still finding ways to make a (profitable for her) game out of getting the squirrels to throw nuts at her while she was out on her route -- thus the cardboard Priority Mail shipping box behind the counter, wedged up against the postage scale, that rattled every time she nudged it. She was not remotely above pretending to have forgotten to drop off some piece of mail just as an excuse to cross the radio station picket line and invoke the squirrels' righteous indignation. You couldn't do that sort of thing all the time, though; for one, it got a bit tiresome taking acorns and such off the back of the head, and anyhow there were things to be done in the post office itself.
Like leaning out the window, idly turning her five-franc coin over in her fingers as she gave the teal deer lurking outside a long, rambling, in-depth discourse on how to be sneakier while observing people.
There had only been the one teal deer at first, but that it turned into an impromptu group lesson was, quite possibly, inevitable.

Also, I'm in Berkeley, where my phone data reception is in the twilight zone, and I'll be wandering around all day so pings may be slow.
