Fandom Post Office, March 26 (Tuesday)

Well, any hope of the rum running out again was dashed, since double the regularly-scheduled shipments had arrived, presumably to make up for last week's shortfall. It wasn't that Éponine had a problem at all with alcohol being available on the island, but there she'd gone to all the trouble of building up leverage to use on the squirrels and it was all for nothing, now. Typical, really, plans going wrong.

It had her in a bit of an irritable mood, and she kept up a constant stream of agitated muttering as she sorted mail. For the most part this consisted of running commentary on the letters going into various mailboxes, like "And that one's for you, but nothing for you today, but that's just fine since you got plenty of mail last week," but every now and then she'd grumble something about rodents, or stupid timing, or just incredibly colorful, archaic French invective.

At least, until she wandered off to J,GoB and came back with a couple of red velvet cupcakes and some coffee, at which point she subsided into . . . well, quieter irritability.
