Caritas, Saturday
Having handwavily turned back from a mouse to a human yesterday, today April was back at work, decidedly cranky, and flicking straw wrappers at Tino. This wasn't really that new for April, but it also wasn't Tino's favorite thing in the world, so every so often he tried to deliver a biting remark that fell flat when April just stared at him.
Ah, this was nice.
She'd missed human contact while she'd been a mouse, okay. Just a little.

Re: Bar
She reached behind her for a bottle of scotch, poured some into a glass along with an ice cube or two, and slid the finished product back across the bar to Duke-- uh, Ron without saying a word, upon which point she set her head in her hands and surveyed him curiously. He was a weird guy, Duke Silver.
Re: Bar
The scotch was scotch. The bar was reasonably empty. This was good. "This is adequate."
Re: Bar
So. You know. That was that.
"Should be quiet-ish tonight," she added. "Fortunately."

Re: Bar
April amused herself sometimes.
Re: Bar
Small towns. They probably had their own slang. Not that Ron cared all that much.

Re: Bar
"There's weird crap in this town," April told Ron, examining her fingernails idly as she spoke. "Undead musicians, some blue people, occasionally transforming into a mouse for a week. It happens."
Ron would probably be more of a bald eagle type, but sure.
Re: Bar
Not that he was taking April at her word here; it just seemed like a reasonable detail to mention.
Re: Bar
"Not surprising," she shrugged, though the description didn't sound familiar. After a moment, she took her phone out of her pocket and flipped through recent photos, eventually settling on one of Jono right here in Caritas, drunk and hovering a few feet above the ground. She turned around her phone so Ron could see. "I know a guy who looks like this."
Re: Bar
That was a dirty dirty word.
Re: Bar
That was much less offensive, right?
