Okay, no, today was not Topher's Stark Industries day.

However, he was missing his meta Mass Effect hoodie, and he kind of thought he might have left it in the shop. Problem was, searching for the hoodie meant going into the lab proper, because he'd been running all those tests on himself last week, and, well, you try putting a Topher in a lab and not having him get distracted by all the shiny, shiny technology in the place. It was a hard thing to do.

To make a long story short, the end result involved the sprinklers coming on by accident. And since Topher was already dressed for prom -- what? you could put a hoodie over a suit, right? -- that meant that it was a formalwear-clad Topher who got soaked by the sprinklers, adding insult to injury. He tossed his jacket over a chair before doing his best to repair the situation quickly, but after fifteen minutes and his dress shirt getting all but plastered to his skin, he decided that maybe science wasn't the fastest route to profit on this one, and made a phone call.

Yeaaaah, Topher wasn't making it to prom tonight.

Billy had just been finishing getting ready when his phone rang, which was why Topher had gotten stuck on voicemail. Whatever was happening did not sound good, so Billy headed right over and went straight in, his eyes going wide at the sprinklers. "Topher? Are you still here?"

"Yeah, hi," Topher called, sticking out an arm from under the desk. He'd decided taking cover would be the best answer. "This store's wiring sucks. Can you magic it off?"

Billy could totally do that, but he made the mistake of peering under the desk and taking in the sight of Topher, soaking wet with his shirt plastered against him, and focusing on his magic suddenly seemed really difficult. "Uh. Hi there."

"Hi," Topher greeted him. "You look really good wet."

...Well, it was accurate.

"So do you," Billy said, since that line of thinking was already out there. "What were you trying to do?"

[dollpocalypse]

"You know, it's all a blur," Topher sighed. "I went into the lab 'cause I wanted my hoodie, but then I got distracted by this cool back massager--" um, not quite-- "and so I was upgrading that 'cause I figured that's what it was brought in for, except it may have been a tiny bit flawed because it started smoking a little and set off the sprinklers."

Yes. All this was because of a smoking vibrator.

Billy snickered softly and smiled at Topher. "I'm sorry, that sucks. Let me see what I can do," he said, finally regaining enough brain power to remember why he'd been called there in the first place. "Iwantthesprinklersoff Iwantthesprinklersoff Iwantthesprinklersoff..." he said, hands up in an attempt to work his magic.

When the sprinklers shut themselves off, a soaking-wet Topher made his way out from under the desk. "Thank you," he declared, and he promptly went in for a kiss.

It was a very unTopherly kiss. All intense and hands-in-Billy's-hair-ish and whatnot.

For a moment, Billy just took in the kiss because wow Topher. Then the combination of kiss and hands in his hair and omg-wet-Topher was just too much, especially at this point in the week, and he kissed Topher back just as hard.

The thing was, the pollen hadn't been affecting Topher a whole lot this week until today. But now that Billy was in the room, looking all dapper and kind of damp from the sprinklers and reminding Topher of how cool he was with his powers and everything, suddenly Topher wanted to do things like slide his hands under the hem of Billy's shirt.

He started working on that, but doing the two things at once was a little distracting, so he broke the kiss and tried to think of something sexy to say.

"Do you want to have sex?"

Once upon a time, Billy had been capable of making intelligent words, but that just really wasn't going to be an option right now. "I... really?" he asked. "I mean, yes but--I've wanted to for a while, or to at least do something close to that and--I don't want to make you--I mean, if you want to--really?"

"Oh, good, you have," Topher said, glad to have that confirmed. "My roommate said that this week would probably be the time, and you look really good right now and you did just save me, so according to how, like, movie plotlines work..."

"I've made you swoon and want to have sex with me?" Billy said with a laugh. "This week has been really hard." Maybe that was a bad choice of word. "You look really good right now too with your shirt and your hair and--yeah."

[dollpocalypse]

"And you always look good," Topher added, feeling that that was a nice touch. And accurate as well, of course. "And your hair smells nice. Also, I heard once that the back room of here is a good place for sex."

'Kay.

"Really?" That would be kind of fitting, considering who the place was named for. "Do you want to--like, now? I mean, it's kind of a prom night tradition, right?"

[dollpocalypse]

So, so true. "Probably most people do it after the dance," Topher mused. "But we're just cooler because we don't have to wait, right? And there's condoms and stuff in the back, so..."

He bounced a bit on the balls of his feet. This was happening!

"I love that you know that," Billy said, leaning in to give Topher another kiss, before reaching down to take his hand. "Come on, show me this awesome room."
