The Park, Saturday Morning
With the appearance of the portal, the pollen abated, blowing gently away from the island into the water, where it would almost immediately dissolve. The flowers that had brought it dropped their petals and then faded almost immediately.
That was the first noticeable part.
The second was the portal itself, opening up shining bright above Fandom's park. Laughter could be heard through it, and tears, and yelling, and people being very, very quiet.
Then the children burst through.
[[ welcome to your AU kids weekend! All apps have been okayed. Come ping in your AU kids or establish them elsewhere! ]]

When she stepped into the park, she stopped, looked around, and then grinned. "That way!"

"--it!"
He rolled to a stop and took a second to glare at the sky above him. "Not my fault. So not my fault."

Then running for the portal with a grin and a jump.
"All right!"

Barely had she left the classroom for a much-needed 'refresher break' when she spotted the...
"That's not convenient or anything."
She stepped through, taking a nice deep breath of fresh air. Much better.

Little KeysmashSel'je liked exploring and a portal appearing in the middle of his room was just too much of a temptation not to step through. He glanced around at his new surroundings, noticed the sun's position in the sky and nodded to himself. Dad wouldn't be up for hours. Time to find Mom instead.
He trotted silently into town.

She glanced around, it did not seem that much different than from when she had last been here (or at Fandom during her time) but as she was here she may as well try and track down her mum.

She had some moms to find. If she wasn't very much mistaken, it was the best time of day ever. Breakfast time.

The portal that she had gone through from her kitchen in Los Angeles, incidentally, had been blue.
A walk through town would give her an idea of where and when she was, Edie thought. Hopefully the other kids wouldn't want to talk to her and make her lose focus.

More specifically that one could appear in the middle of the sidewalk when you were running to catch up to Otaki-kun before he got to class before you did.
She stumbled through the portal before she could stop herself, falling onto the grass with an "/Oof/" followed by a quick and loud, "/I DIDN'T MEAN TO!/"
[She's speaking Japanese on instinct. Can switch to English if spoken to!]

"Ohayo," she said, giving the girl a bow. "'Tashi o namae wa Kayla!"
Okay, no. It wasn't perfect. She was still learning. But she'd tried!
no subject
Nope, she didn't look familiar.
"/My name's Boaz! I'm six! Nice to meet you! Is this where you live?/"

It didn't stop him, but he knew better. He just had a bit too much of his mother in him, perhaps.
He stood there a moment, staring all around him and hugging MonMon. This... wasn't his hallway, but it didn't look too scary.

She found herself in the park. Oh, Fandom! She knew about this kind of portal. Surely there must be adults around to entertain herself with by being a brat.
"It's Fandom, Lasumi!" she said, spotting him near her. "Where your moms went to school."
no subject
"So. Much. Trouble." She blinked, then waved. "Hi, Alec."

Goji Berry Hale was ready to find her parents!

Ugh, the other side was a park full of little kids. She was not even remotely the babysitting type. But there was also a town, and maybe restaurants and coffee houses and other places to be seen being cool, so she kept her head down, avoided making eye contact with any of the children, and headed off to see what was what.

flutteringSWOOPING LIKE A HAWK OR A FALCON OR A EYRIEN into the portal.Hey! It was Fandom again!
...Where was she supposed to go now?

Seeing his big sister on the other side, but tiny?
Well that made it all worth his while.
"Well, look at you."

He was either a bad male or he was gonna be all bossy and try to make her be safe. She didn't want to deal with either of those.
But he did have wings like her daddy, which was the only reason she was waiting for his answer, rather than kicking him in his knees and running away like her daddy and her uncas had told her to.

But the blue swirling thing had pretty much scooped her up and dumped her in this park. With a castle in the distance. What. The. Hell.
Getting to her feet, she grimaced at all the little kids, then went off to find out where the heck she was.

Someday Glitz might end up in a portal or a wormhole that took him somewhere other than Fandom. Today was not that day and so he still hadn't learned his lesson. He was instead happily zooming around yelling "HI FANDOM DIDJA MISS ME?"

That was what he'd been doing: prowling around under the bridge at Les Invalides, creeping up on imaginary victims like Papa taught him, when the portal opened up. Any second thoughts he might have had about jumping through it evaporated when he caught sight of a couple of cops heading his way; they didn't have enough evidence to pin that robbery last week on his family, but he wasn't about to give them any more reason to be suspicious.
Besides, he'd been on his way to find Maman when he got sidetracked 'practicing,' and he had a good feeling that if he went through the glowing thing, it'd take him to her.
So here he was, a 12-year-old dandy in slightly worn and clearly secondhand fancy dress, a battered cane in one hand and his cap slightly askew.
"Well, won't this be interesting," he remarked cheerfully to himself, taking a few minutes to look around the park before he went to find his mother.

He looked back over his shoulder at the portal to make sure his mama wasn't going to swoop through it and scoop him up, asking, "Ivan Zimnievich, what do you think you're doing?" No Mama. So he decided there was nothing for it but to go find a phone to call his emergency numbers and wait for someone to come get him, wherever he was, so Mama could yell.
